If you get a chance, check out my first LD entry, a compo for LD41 called Painting the Black, an arcade style abstracted baseball / breakout mashup. Feedback welcome, going to put some more time into it post-compo to add music/sound and tighten it up.

PAINTING THE BLACK Post-Jam Update

Thanks to everyone for the support on my first Ludum Dare entry! It is super empowering to complete a project in such a small amount of time, and super humbling to have a game I made listed with the games of so many talented developers.

I actually started late, I didn't even decide to participate until noon on Sunday! One of the things I chose to bypass because of the time constraint is adding music and sound to the game, something a lot of people mentioned in their feedback. Sound is not my strong point - but in case anyone wants to play the game with music and sound, I had some free time this weekend and created a post-jam version of the game on ITCH.IO that has music and sound in it. I can't promise the music/sounds are good, but it is probably better than playing in silence - and if you prefer the silence, you can turn the music/sounds off. I also added a new ball-type that lets you destroy gloves which is pretty cool.

Please play the Jam Version of the game first if you haven't already rated the game, and have fun!

American Healthcare

Hey I just wanted to first of all thank everyone for participating in Ludum Dare, what a great opportunity to practice our craft, and to get to know and support one another! I've been getting great feedback so far on the game and I appreciate that, I'm enjoying playing all of your games, too.

Also I was a little rushed throwing up my ITCH.IO page last night, with the Game of Thrones episode coming on right as the Compo ended, so I updated it when I got home from work today and I'm pretty happy with it.

If you get a chance to check out my game, I think you might like it, it's pretty fun:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/american-healthcare-system

It's not an HTML5 game, you actually have to download it for your PC, but it's a small little EXE file and if you don't like it you can just delete it afterwards.

It's a Space Invaders / Galaga type game with a twist, and a message, inspired by the American Healthcare System.

If you get inspired to make a difference, there are charities out there that help people out. I'll compile a list on the ITCH.IO page. (Here's a list for now: https://www.healthcareglobal.com/top-10/healthcare-charities) In the meantime if you know of any good charities for people struggling to afford medicine and healthcare, post a link to it in the comments section!

Thank you!
