Space Caves?

Since I started working a full time job, I've found it harder to keep doing jams with the same vigor that I used to. I didn't think I would do this Ludum Dare, but then I convinced myself I'd do something simple and quick. I thought I would make a space shooter and mix in some light Dark Souls elements. Turns out even this was too much work for me to finish! Still, I had a lot of fun making it and I stayed up crazy late working on this.

I learned out to use Inkscape for this jam so I could make some simple vector graphics. It's a little plain, but I think it looks nice and I'm happy with the shooting and movement effects.

I ended up spending too long on the little details, so I was rushing during the last two hours to put some levels together. I wish I could have had more enemies and more guns. I didn't put in the ability to save progress, which makes it pretty difficult. I also put in an untested puzzle, that I think that turned out being harder than I thought.

Also, I ran out of time to pick a cool name - so we've just got Space Caves for now.

Please let me know if you liked it! I had fun with this one, so I'm thinking about fleshing this out a bit more if I get some time.

I'll Take You To Tomato Town

We just finished our Ludum Dare 40 game! I worked on the stretchy-arm tech for this one. If I had more time I would have liked to improve the wiggle physics, but I think what we have is still silly enough.

The name "I'll Take You To Tomato Town" doesn't really describe the game well, but someone shouted the phrase during development and we all couldn't stop laughing... Now that's the name of the game.

Check it out here!
