Ludum Dare 48

Challenge completed

Wow, I actually finished it. I actually planned ahead and somewhat stuck to a schedule.

When I saw the Construct 3 offer I decided to try and make a game using the engine, an engine I had never used before. I'm happy with the end result, but with more familiarity with the engine, I could have done something better.

I took a lot of advice from this video, so thanks to @adamcyounis for the great tips.

Lessons learned:

  • If you are more comfortable with coding, code. Drag and drop and "No code" engines are very useful, but if you are not accustomed to them, they can be annoying.

  • Asset making can be fun, but don't focus too much on details that will hardly be noticed.

  • Implement thigs progressively, don't obsess over small details before finishing the core gameplay.

Anyway, It was a really fun experience. Looking forward to playing what you all have created too.
