I really like the idea!

LD23

Again? :/ Great!

Oh, time went by so fast!

This will be my second try. I’ll show you what I didn’t learn from the first one… Well, I’m still doing my job with Microsoft XNA so there shouldn’t be any surprises 😀 Game will be some 2D pixel-art magic, won’t repeat mistake I made (vector graphics)

Tools are almost the same:

That’s it. Good luck and have fun!

RTS Progress

Progress on my RTS game 😀 Its 00:00 here…  1 Day and 3 hours left :/

LD24

Another one?! Sure!

This will be my third try to finish game in 48 hours. I’m still uisng Microsoft XNA for games so there shouldn’t be any surprises.

Getting ready

LD theme announcement in 1 hour, 11 minutes, 40 seconds (3 AM here in Europe)

Evolution progres

I have decided to do something like game evolution rather than evolution in game.

As you first start game, you are presented with classical game – snake.

This is full snake game:
– Sound effects and music
– Collecting points makes you longer
– Collision detection (border and self)
– Explosion of collision

This will serve as introduction to main game.

— Game has evolved — (you will have to discover how to evolve the game yourself)

This is “After Evolution” snake game. It’s maze like game but more research is required to get to finish.

This game features:
– Time limit
– Light effects
– Beacons
– Power-ups
–  etc.

Tell me if you want to try it!

Good morning

This is my breakFAST! 18 hours left

SPACE – EMP powerup (X)
Left CTRL – Beacon powerup (B)

NVM I don’t have time to fiddle with .NET, sorry!
26. Aug 2012 · 15:00 UTC
Sorry, I do not have the latest XNA Framework installed. With the one I have your game does not seem to run.
26. Aug 2012 · 15:08 UTC
Installed XNA Framework 4.0. The game displays: “No suitable graphics card found”, then quits.

Works fine for me, laptop, windows 7 64-bit, not integrated graphics, plays well.

@kaidoe Yeah I have fixed that problem, it was minor bug i left for later. How far did you came, how many points have you collected?

Aeon

Aeon is epic snake evolution game. It extends over wast period of time.

It all began with small snake that was lost in woods. After many many years snake begun to evolve, to adopt to its environment. Snake was forced to live rest of its life in tight and dark world. Snake had to evolve so much that now, instead of eating other creatures, snake is consuming energy that it can find.

Your task it to help snake to survive as long as possible. That can be done by carefully but quickly planing your moves.

You start as a little helpless snake.

By collecting tokens you increase length of your tail. As time passes, barriers will start to appear out of nowhere. Be aware, they are dangerous!

As your tail isn’t of much use, by evolution your tail will disappear. This is normal.

As you can see, over time it’s darker and darker. In dark you don’t see a thing. You evolve. You consume energy instead of food and your head light path under you. This will greatly help you, especially since you are in tight space. You consume energy, during your first days, you have learned to use that energy more useful than just lightning you path. You can leave beacons that will stay lit so you can see where you have came from. Jumping is your specialty, but be careful what power ups you use, they cost energy.

Be careful and save your energy, without it you are dead!

Have fun and post your scores.

Aeon gameplay

If you haven’t had chance to play my game from last LD Compo 24, I have finally managed to find some time to record and upload a video. Game is called “Aeon” – evolved classical snake game.

That seems like a nice game. At first I was like “Oh just a regular snake game..”, but then it started changing and I was really impressed! Will it change, or evolve, even more? That would be great!

I’ll try to participate

I don’t have much time this weekend but I’ll try to find a few hours to make simple-simple game. This would be my 4th LD if I remember correctly.

Tools are almost the same:

And here’s my workspace. As you can see, I’m currently away from home (“studying” engineering 😉

Good luck to you all and of course – have fun!

LD26

Ludum Dare 26 finally!

I was waiting for this since Dec. I didn’t have time to participate in LD25 so I’ll make it up in this one. This would be my 4th LD if I remember correctly…

Tools are almost the same:

Good luck to you all and of course – have fun!

Progress – Fast Exit

Here are some screenshots from my game. The goal is to exit the room as fast as possible – 10 seconds. It would be easy, but you are left in the dark with only few toys to help you find your way out.

Lights demo (45 lights)

And here is actual gameplay. Left is release version, right is debug window.
