First time back to LD in a few years
I reckon I'm going to have a crack at making a 3d scooter delivery game. First things first is to make a nice color palette!
I reckon I'm going to have a crack at making a 3d scooter delivery game. First things first is to make a nice color palette!
Ive quickly thrown together a model of a scooter and a straight road. Next up physics!

Took some work but I have working suspension on the front and rear wheels! Next up steering and propulsion!

The scooter can drive and steer now! Going to take a break from physics and do some more fun effects and maybe some gameplay next.

Ive added some FX now, brake smoke, skid marks, brake lights and there's now some coins the player can pickup
Up next I guess I should actually do something that relates to the theme!
I'm happy with how it's progressing although it definitely needs a more interesting game loop, its just a simple delivery game atm. But that's a problem for tomorrow! https://youtu.be/d-hvefgl9m0
Im pretty pleased with how this modular city has turned out, still not sure about adding an extra mechanic to make the gameplay more fun sure.

The game loops are finally in place, but its still a little dull. Ah well, I think at this point it is what it is. Im going to focus on sound and a character now.

With the help of my scrappy but lovable modular synth setup:

I made some atrocious music!!

I also added a button for all you people with functional ear drums so you can turn off my terrible tunes.

The sound effects you hear in the video are made with https://sfxr.me/ If you havent added sfx to your game yet I'd really recommend this tool, it lets you make nice game sfx in no time at all and it adds so much to your game.
I've submitted the final Compo version of Spuggy's Pizza, I'm happy enough with how it turned out, but I'd of liked to add some extra gameplay mechanics. Check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/spuggys-pizza-delivery
