Ludum Dare 46

First time for me

Been going through some things, but programming always makes me feel better. I want to get in to game dev, and this is the best way I can think of to get experience. I use Unity and know C#, both on beginner levels. I plan on doing the Jam, and my suggestions are:

  • The mystery behind you
  • The hero isn't here
  • Reinvent the wheel

I'm pulling out, but I'm happy

I have decided to forfeit. I've been busy with family and I'm still very new to Unity and all this. All I have is a non-animated player without a head. While I'm sure I might be able to finish him today, I'd still need at least a platform level with enemies, and that's still cutting a LOT out. I wouldn't be happy releasing a game, where the basic idea isn't at least understandable. Not to mention that I'm not an artist.

That said, I am happy with the knowledge and experience I have gained. I plan to keep coming back until I release a game, then keep coming back till I get a high ranking game. I love the potential to learn game dev here. I will probably release the game separate on itch.io , because I do like the idea and I mean hey, more experience. It will probably take awhile. Hopefully I can finish next jam. Until then, I'll be playing what came out here, watching live streams, and trying to learn general best practices, so I can spend less time figuring out how things work, and more time working.
