LD 42

new to ludum dare

hey guys, this is my first ludum dare. I should probably have prepared more for this and i should probably have decided to do the challenge earlier instead of 9 hours before it starts.

Idk how this works but if you can reply or something and you know a great article or resource the fully explains ludum dare, could you send it to me? thanks.

Ill probably try finding more info myself but i really don't want to stay up tonight and by the time i was up its probably going to be 3 or 4 hours into the challenge.

Good luck and have fun!

Made a plan

Joined a bit late and i was considering not doing Ld but now i think, why not? i don't really have anything better to do.

I have a basic plan and hopefully i'll get it done in time. With that being said, i don't like crunching so i won't be working on it constantly and i'll stop to play a game or read a book.

going pretty well

Things are going pretty well, i think i might be able to finish all the code today.

Im really thankful to the competition for giving me a topic as i was stuck on deciding what i should make a game about.

Imma get some food now then get back to work.

End of first day

Hey guys, I hope all of your game's are going well.

Mine is, I've got the baseline code done (probably doesn't seem like much to you guys but I haven't been making games for long). I really do think i'll finish and have a decent game to show.

My plans for the future include me working on the game for maybe another month or two after LD and then putting it up for sale so i can learn about the mechanics of selling a game and marketing and whatnot.

Pretty much done

Hey guys, Hope you're all having fun!

Just checking in, my game's pretty much done, i just need to make it all pretty.

Excited for ludum dare 46!!!

Hello everyone!

I'm really excited for ludum dare! This is my second (maybe third? i've only published one game but i remember entering ludum dare twice in the past).

I'm kind of busy this weekend with a lot of homework I have to catch up on but hopefully I'll be able to strike a balance and be able to finish my game AND finish my homework.

It's been ages since I've made a game that I could even remotely call finished so hopefully I can change that and make a recent game.

I have 2 goals for this ludum dare. Firstly to try and improve my art skills (if you look at my first game you'll see my art sucks) and secondly to make the game look as professional as possible. There is no excuse for having my game look like a poorly made, crappy game.

Finished my game! (Despite having to be very rushed)

Its a game about a blood feud. Check it out here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/knock-off-blood-feud

Its very simple and very very short, I have exams coming up soon and I need to study for them so I couldn't work on the game for as long as I would have liked, but I may make some updates after exams are done.

I figured out how to do animations in Unity!

Haven't really spent any time making games in the past 2 years since I started preparing for end of high school exams.

And honestly its so good to be back. I spent the part of the day learning how to make animations and I finally got it to work and it feels so freaking good! All I've got right now is a small room that the player can walk around but all of the walking animations are done and it looks amazing. Compared to a lot of other games here I'm sure that's not very impressive but idk it just makes me so happy.
