My First LD Game!

Capture4.PNG

Really excited to have done my first LD! I've designed a few here and there, but never gotten around to investing the weekend toward implementing. Really happy to have gotten a chance to finish this off. I made a challenge to only work for about one full day so that I wouldn't burn out doing three jams this month.

All in all, there was probably around 12 hours of work, including the design phase. Really pleased with how it came out! Might consider streaming and actually doing compo in the future instead of doing almost compo but not actually taking the plunge.

I hope everyone had a great time! Good luck to those still jamming on.

Seeking out Mac Testers!

get-comfortable.gif

I've happily submitted, but unfortunately it looks like the web build of my game is having some troubles for Mac users. I don't have a Mac box to test it out unfortunately, but it looks like in Godot (the engine I'm using) I can export to OSX from Windows. I'm still left unable to test, though!

I would be extremely appreciative to anyone who would take 2 minutes to test out my Mac build/web build on Mac (both available on Itch.io)! It would be great to know if the OSX export in Godot is working tip top for the next 2 jams I'm doing this month so I can put out builds, just in case there's still browser quirks (which, coming from a background in web app development, there will always be browser quirks).

Really appreciate the time to even read this far in the blog post, even if you don't feel like testing! It's been a long weekend for everyone. I hope everyone had a great jam! It was a load of fun, and I'm having a great time checking out everyone's games. People did some seriously cool stuff!

Finished Again!

I'm just happy to have finished a jam solo again! It feels great after a really rough year of overwork and stress to get something done. Also bouncing between work during the jam isn't ideal, but hey, done! At least done enough! Mainly tried to nail a specific feel and let my code and design side be secondary for once. Was definitely more motivated to work on it by starting with some visuals. It felt way more improv than normal. It only took about an hour or two to get music and SFX, so I'm definitely going to lead with them next time. That slight amount of juice really gets you through the rough bugs.

If you want to make some friends, feel free to check out my game/toy! I really appreciate it. It's not much, but I hope you like what's there :)
