Update I: A Picky Eater

Gosh I better feed this fire something fancy, or else it'll go out. And who knows what lurks in the dark??
I'm starting kind of late but I hope I can finish!

I hope I'm gonna be able to finish in 5 and a half hours! The main mechanics are down, I just a little bit of polish and content. Also, in no way am I a chef, so these recipes are more than likely NOT accurate.
Gosh this fire is picky! It needs to be nourished by three random recipes.

Here's the ones we got. The Filet mignon looks easy, we'll go for that.

Lets put in the right ingredients, then start our stopwatch so we'll know when to stop cooking it.

90 seconds are up, so lets grab our finished dish!

Looks like the fire enjoys it!

But undercook something. . . Cook it too long. . . Put in the wrong combination of ingredients. . .
might just mess around and learn godot in 48 hours
good luck to all ! stay hydrated !
Followed brainstorming with art this time instead of a prototype. Let's hope it goes well.

I just saw bubbles, there has to be something down there! But nothings biting. Perhaps if I tried going deeper. . .
I've got a long ways to go.
But I've finally added a casting/reeling system I'm happy with ! You can cast out your line to a target location and let it sink deeper and deeper for as long as you want. Once the reel/line is locked and a fish bites, the bobber will dip a bit below the water and the reeling begins!

I've also added maybe 20 ish unique collectable items with loot tables!
6 hours left, good luck everyone!
I've finally finished my dialogue system! I've also added a tutorial at the beginning to show how to play.

Items/Collectables are still here

And I've updated the UI a bit!

The bar at the top also fills with successive successful (ssssss) catches. When it fills, your fishing rod is upgraded and you can fish ever deeper and deeper to find your elusive keys.
Time to work on music/sound and hopefully finish!
As always, didn't get as much as I wanted done, but I'm happy its complete at least!
Check if out here if you'd like :)
I'm thinking to myself there's no way anyone can collect all 21 items. . . Whichever ones they find are sure to be interesting at least.

With Ludum Dare in January, the weekend right before school starts (as opposed to during the quarter), I finally have some time to participate!
godot x paint.net x blender
enjoy my cat

Amidst a busy week I finally came up with an idea (far too late). Let’s see how much I can execute in the little time remaining.
post includes complimentary cat photo

something something depth of field

with just under 12 hours left, I at least have the working player character/camera system. objects can be tagged as targets & pictures can be taken up to a limit. picture data is saved alongside a "score" based on how clear your photo is (is your depth of focus accurate?)
time for short nap and finish with levels + making the score matter. i think the hardest part now is making things worth taking photos of.
oh yeah and the pictures you take are saved locally as well.

very common sentiment of not finishing everything i'd wanted, but hopefully I can wrap up and have something playable in an hour or two
Different objects increase your score by differing amounts depending on how hard they are to capture (hidden or moving) and how well you took if (how is your DEPTH(S) of focus).
Some kind of museum? Take photos of stuff I guess!
Try not to disturb the wildlife though
