Oh geez
I completely forgot Ludum Dare was today. Here's hoping I can get something out that's decent! I've been doing a lot with unity the past couple of months so I'll try that

Since I forgot that today was Ludum Dare, I started late. This late start has ultimately led to no motivation to continue and not enough time to get what I need done, done.
My team and I have been working for 3 hours on our first Ludum Dare together, and we think we've done enough for tonight. Gonna get some sleep and work some more on it in the morning. Can't wait!
So come to find out my team and I don't have matching versions of Unity, which is why we've been having so many crashes when using Unity's built in collaboration. I have $#*! internet, so this is taking forever to download.
Even with that hiccup of having to update Unity, this game is coming along really well!

I'd say this is a very good amount of progress made for tonight. Core gameplay is done, finishing up story and level design tomorrow. May even try to get some dialogue boxes in there if I can, lol.
It's the final hour and I really need to get a few more things done. I should probably get back to work instead of writing this, but I need future nostalgia fuel ¯_(ツ)_/¯
After many sleepless nights, Escape from власть is now done and available at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/escape-from-vlast
Decided to add a mechanic where the player can remotely turn on and off lights, which affects power drain. The GUI element for it is currently still a WIP. I'm hoping to have be a pop-up menu that pauses the game when it's open and shows where the lights are. I would also like a minimap, which shouldn't be too difficult since the game already has a grid system in place for the wire scripts to know which wires to power. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the progress on this. Maybe I can convince the team to help make this a real game that could be published on something like Itch.IO or, if we're so lucky enough, Steam.
Can't wait for Ludum Dare 40! I'll unfortunately have to start late because I have to go to a game for band, and I won't be getting back till about 11 PM. Thankfully the stadium we're playing at is just down the road, and I've got a sufficient amount of energy drinks to get by. Let's go!
Tools I'll be using:
Due to lack of motivation, ideas, artists, etc, I'm dropping out of Ludum Dare 40. Maybe next time, but I can't do it this time. But, I'll work on updating my last Ludum Dare game, which you can find here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/escape-from-vlast
Alright, so now that it's two hours in, I've finally got an idea! A turn-based programming game. This'll be interesting
After debating constantly with myself, I finally have a working prototype for the game. Going to finish up the core gameplay, then begin working heavily on graphics tomorrow. Sunday will be dedicated almost entirely to sound and menu design. From the looks of it so far, it'll be a success!
Woke up at 10 today and got right to work. Core gameplay is now finished! Attached to this post is a rather long gif of the gameplay. The beginning is easy, but it gets horrifically harder.
Any thoughts or comments on the art style would be appreciated! I'm not much of an artist, and I need an outside perspective on the look.

I've finally reached it. The oh so hideous, the horrendous, the terrible...
Mid-jam game.
It's almost always at a point where I can't find any more things to improve, and then I realize what I needed to improve after the jam.
Perhaps this time I'll have the foresight to double-check and triple-check every single little minuscule detail in the game, so that I don't forget about it later.
Then again,
I could also just sleep
But sleep is for babies 😤
After working all day today, I've finally gotten a whole lot done. Currently 2 AM here, and I'm thinking about uploading the game's EXE to dropbox and giving a quick link to it so I can have some other jammers' perspectives. Anyway, this is a gif of the game so far

I've finally finished Ludum Dare 41! Now I can get ample sleep so I can wake up in the morning for school tomorrow lol. You can play my game here
I finished my game, Simon Shoots, a few hours before the timer was done
You can play it here
Hey everyone! If you haven't already, come check out my game and give some feedback on it. It's called Simon Shoots, and you can play it here
