Ludum Dare 46

I'm In! Hooray!

I am in and very excited! This will be my second game jam and my first Ludum Dare! Good luck, everyone! I'm excited to see what you all make!

It's So Soon!

Where I am, the Jam officially starts in 3 hours! I loved my last game jam experience, and I am SO happy to be participating in an even bigger one! Anyway, I probably shouldn't be thinking of ideas before the theme is even revealed, but I am very attatched to the idea of a retro parser-based text adventure like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (one of my favorite games of all time). Well, I'm excited to see the theme, even more excited to make the game, and most of all excited to be participating in the Ludum Dare! Good luck, everyone!

The Final Countdown

Well, here we are in the final minutes of the excruciating wait for the theme announcement! I, for one, am immensely excited to see what it will be, and more importantly, what you will all create!

Let's Do This

Alright! Looks like we're trying to keep it alive! I'm having trouble coming up with ideas, but with this kind of pressure, I can probably come up with something. Have fun everyone!

Work Has Started!

I've officially started work on my first Ludum Dare game! It's going to be a comedic Twine game featuring a business tycoon and entrepreneur trying to keep his company alive in a number of ridiculous ways. Excited to see how it turns out!

Coming Along Nicely

As you can see, my Twine game is coming along nicely. Screenshot 2020-04-18 at 8.59.45 AM.png It's not quite done, but there is definite progress being made. Good luck everyone! I look forward to playing your games!

Getting More of the Work Done

We already have a couple of endings where you die. Right now I'm just trying to get to writing the main storyline. Screenshot 2020-04-18 at 10.56.35 AM.png Anyway, that's just what I've been working on. Good luck, everyone!

It Just Keeps Getting Bigger

I have the beginnings of the main storyline in and probably too many additional side things. I'm having a lot of fun coding this, and so far the game is pretty dang funny (in my opinion, at least). Screenshot 2020-04-18 at 12.20.11 PM.png Good luck, fellow developers!

Sneak Peek

At one point in the game, you can ask why we're here. The narrator will tell you. If you challenge him, you can pick any one of these as the reason: Screenshot 2020-04-18 at 1.03.33 PM.png Well, good luck, and I can't wait to see what you all create!

Point of No Return

I'm at the point where I'm beginning to wish I'd done other ideas but have made too much to quit now. Screenshot 2020-04-18 at 6.13.29 PM.png (There's more after that, by the way) Anyway, good luck everyone!

Still working!

I still have lots to do on my comedic Twine game! There's still work to do on the main storyline, as well as the side things. Hopefully I'll be able to finish today, but who knows? I would have liked to do some music for it, but that doesn't look like it'll happen, considering I still have to actually, you know, finish the game. Screenshot 2020-04-20 at 9.50.37 AM.png

Going Very Well!

The final stages of my game are going very well. I'm tightening up some of the humor towards the end to make it funnier and getting the main storyline done! I think I'll be done before the deadline. I'd really like to get my game some ratings, so hopefully I can rate some too!

Working hard!

Alright! With 4 hours left, I'm working very hard coding the last few endings in! Screenshot 2020-04-20 at 1.10.33 PM.png Good luck to my fellow developers!

Game done! Please rate!

After all this work, our game Irving Forrest Technologies and [REDACTED] is done! I would appreciate it if you would rate the game and give me some feedback! Can we get above 100 in the humor category? Screenshot 2020-04-20 at 2.43.01 PM.png Find the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/irving-forrest-technologies-and-redacted

Well...I did it!

I did the Ludum Dare this year because a game jam I was going to attend in person got cancelled, and now here I am! I had so much fun participating in my first Ludum Dare, and I hope to participate in more in the future! I am very proud of what I made, and I hope that you will be too! Just a reminder that my game can be found here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/irving-forrest-technologies-and-redacted

Amazing Playthrough of My Game!

@Mhykah has been holding a thing where you can post a link to your game on a blog post he did, and he'll record a playthrough of your game. I sent him a link, and he did mine! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBqU0z_SjEk

Good Reviews!!!

I am SO glad that everyone who's reviewed likes the game. I'd especially like to give a shout out to @jlv for posting this comment which really sums up what the game is all about. Screenshot 2020-04-21 at 5.57.43 PM.png So thanks, and please be sure to rate the game if you have a chance! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/irving-forrest-technologies-and-redacted

Thank You for 20 Ratings!

This was my first Ludum Dare, and I highly doubted I would get 20 ratings! And yet, here I am! Screenshot 2020-04-23 at 9.54.41 AM.png Thanks to everyone who's rated, everyone who will rate, and everyone in this amazing community in general!
