Those nights

Doesn’t everyone love those nights where you plan on learning something

or playing around with some code to end up on random tangents on Youtube or other random sites?

Well chalk this night up to one of those nights as it is now 3:00 AM here with nothing new learned.

And with that I leave you a Nick cage photoshop I made:

computer problems

My computer just decided that it won’t let me do anything or open anything so I restarted it about a half an hour ago. Now it has decided to try and repair itself and has been stuck on the windows 8 attempting repair screen for a half hour. I’m posting this from my tablet and hope I don`t need to attempt to make a game on an android tablet. Wish me luck.

EDIT: Well apparently after it ran for almost an hour everything is fine now. I just hope this doesn’t happen during the dare.

If you loose the computer again a pen and paper or tablet game would be really cool anyway. Good Luck

Some Progress

Well I have the main menu done, time to work on the actual game.

Main Menu

My idea is to use the term second as someone that is below you in rank. In my game you are the CEO of a company and must control 10 individual managers of  various departments in order to lead your company to wealth.

Also they say dual monitors leads to increased productivity but so far it has lead to the opposite.

I also have a stream up at www.twitch.tv/daOyster

Pre-compo Wings

Time to eat some pre-compo wings to start the night right and get the keyboard all greasy.

DropDown Menu Test

I have drop down menus made and can now begin working on some of the games actual mechanics.

Looks nice. But I would recommend working on the actual game first, then add menus later. That way if you run out of time for menus, you got the important part done :)

Lunch/art

Took a lunch break and worked a tad on some more art. Also made the drop down menus able to open up or down.

Guess I’m in for a second round

Well after a decently timed knee injury that is going to prevent me from skiing next weekend, I decided

Ludum Dare #28 will be a great way to spend the weekend.

This will be my second Ludum Dare. And with a segue to the list of things everyone does:

  • OS:
    • Windows 8.0 (dev. computer) /Windows 7 (on testing laptop)
  • Language:
    • Java
  • Engine:
    • LibGDX
  • Software:
    • Eclipse
    • Paint.net
    • BFXR
    • various unmentioned programs

Decided on a theme, started working.

So for the theme i decided to intemperate it as you only have one job.

My game will be called “You Had One Job”

In it you play as a factory worker named Bill who is in charge of stamping the right labels on products as they go by a conveyor belt.

If you put the wrong label on a product you lose.

Without further ado, meet bill!
