Darke Shard’s first Ludum Dare

G’day Ludum Dare!

This is my first time properly participating in a game jam and I’m pretty excited. I’ll be chronicling my experience and the LD itself once the weekend’s over, but as an intro, I’ve prepared an in-depth infographic detailing my game-jamming plans. Yay indeed!

My base code and the sprite sheets I made for reference are available here: http://shaunanoordin.com/ludumdare/29/basecode/

All the best, and have fun!

Mine Is Simple

Yay! After nearly 48 hours, I’ve completed my first game for the Ludum Dare.

It’s playable online at: http://shaunanoordin.com/ludumdare/29/ (Works best with Chrome)

The project’s primarily a HTML5-based game engine which I hope to further develop to have more content. In fact, I spent so much time focussing on the engine that I only came up with the name for my actual game 5 minutes ago.

Since it’s a simple game about escaping a simple maze set inside an old mine, I’ve puntastically decided to call it Mine Is Simple. Haha!

Seriously though, I’m really amazed at the amount of energy and creativity everyone’s been putting into their projects. Ludum Dare’s far more fun than I had expected it’d be, and I look forward to seeing some awesome games from this event. Cheers, everyone!
