LD 38

I'm in!

I'm excited to be participating in my second Ludum Dare this year!

For LD33 just my wife and I worked together to make Sales of a Deathman (http://davidthelazar.com/salesofadeathman/SalesOfADeathman.html). This year, we'll have help from my brother in law, my sister in law, and her boyfriend (all in high school). I can't wait to see what we come up with.

Our game will be written in Monkey-X, and art done in Aseprite. Once we get started I'll be streaming development and trying my best to not be boring at https://twitch.tv/davidthelazar

Good luck and have fun!

Big day

I can't believe it, but our proof of concept this morning worked, and we're going to be making a music-based game. It feels way above my head, but it's starting to come together. Time to crunch through asset making and fun making. And also adding a player character...

Finally done! I can't believe it!

I'm way too sleepy to say too much about it now, but I am very pleased with how our game turned out:

Eine Kleine InsektMusik is a music-based game about a bug trapped in a piano. Try not to get squished!

Excited for judging!

My second-favorite part of Ludum Dare starts soon. Last time I participated I played something like 200 games, and had so much fun trading game design comments with all the incredibly talented developers. You learn so much by having to rush from concept to release in 3 days and you learn even more by finding out what other people liked/disliked about it. I look forward to judging and getting judged!

Updated With a Post-Jam Version!

We've added a post-jam version of our game Eine Kleine Insektmusik that addresses the main issues brought up in our comments. The game, in my testing, feels much more challenging and interesting now.

So if you haven't played it yet, please check out the completed-within-the-time-limit-of-the-jam version of our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/eine-kleine-insektmusik

If you have already played it, why not come back and check out our post-jam version that hopefully turns it into an actual game? We'd love to hear feedback on how the update fixes the gameplay!
