Blue Star Spaceship release for Ludum Dare 40

Development started

Hello guys, I'm glad to present you our new team which is working on a project called "Life is Hell... and hard". It will be a simple Jump and Run with selfmade engine and selfmade images and sounds.

Our team of 3 people are basically non-game developers with some skills in software development and our designer is basically a hobby musican, artist and rapper.

We had our first downer some hours ago because the first collision approaches had big impacts on the performance of the MAC notebook of our team member Thorsten. His GPU started to glow and he wasn't feeling to continue on a selfmade engine.

Thoughts about available existing game engine were made but we still went back to our own because of the short time we have to get this game running.

In the meanwhile our sound and artist Jan made awesome progress in terms of a nice background image and first images for ideas around the main character.

I need some sleep. I hope you guys had a good start and i wish you the best for you game. Hopefully we all will get something playable at the end :-D

Finally we are done with our second ludum dare release. This time the game was made by 3 people.

It was a very nice experience for us all and i think a jump and run game is maybe too much for this short time. I hope you guys enjoy the 5 levels of JUMP AND RUN in LIFE IS HELL!
