Ludum Dare 46

HOME - Post-Mortem?

IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED/RATED THE GAME DO IT NOW: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/home-1

home2.png The development of HOME was a real challenge. There had to be so much cut from the finished thing, due to time constraints, but I'm glad I managed to cram enough into the game. The team I worked with had many ideas for the finished product and that over burst of ideas definitely made development more interesting, finding what works and what's realistic. I think if I had an extra day, this game would be completely different in scope and scale to what was made. One of the concepts that was last minute were the area variants. The game was going to load unique chunks for each areas, but I had to cut what I hope for 30+ chunks down to around 12. The palette/area variants were created in the final hours of the project so that the system I created for it wouldn't go to waste. Of course, this is a short jam, so what the team's dreams of the game were had to shrunken to something doable.

Really unsure how I should end this, but I hope you've enjoyed the jam so far! I've seen so many promising titles and I can't wait to see more!

Also hope I can show some more of a my main project soon! ;)
