WE FINISHED IT WITH 3 HOURS TO SPARE!
CAT HUNTER DEMON SLAYER

In this game you play as Mr.Miauw and protect Catopia from the evil hell hounds. Enter BARK, the realm of dogs, to slay catopia's foes. The war is never-ending.
The concept of the game was to have an infinitely looping action-rpg. Due to time constraints it turned out to become a looping arena shooter, with limited adittional features.
We developed almost everything from scratch. The only asset not our own is the Hellhound sprite which is created by Luis Zuno (@ansimuz). The piece is under a CC-BY-3.0 Licence http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
This being our first unity project, we are really happy with what we were able to deliver in this jam. The music, the art, and the code. For more of our projects check out our website: katelyst.com or our itch page: https://katelyst.itch.io/
HOW TO PLAY:
W - MOVE UP A - MOVE LEFT S - MOVE DOWN D - MOVE RIGHT
SPACE - DASH
LEFT MOUSE BUTTON - SHOOT
Better to start late than to never start! I initially planned to start this game jam 40 hours ago, but I didn't out of anxiety.
I've joined the past three game-jams and cant stand the feeling of not submitting anything before the jam is over. So with only 32 hours on the clock I'm going to see what I can still get done.
Goals: Improve proficiency with UMG blueprings,Create an immersive experience by minimizing complexity and maximizing depth, Use audio and ambience to deliver experience and reducing art scope
Master Goal: Do not give up, and deliver something!
Thank you all for being an inspiration with your work and best wishes for these final hours!

Was able to get initial UMG blueprints connected and spawning last night. I am facing some bugs with the drag and drop, but expect to be able to adjust that this morning.
Next up is setting up items and icon display's, an 'event' function for generating items when pressing the 'gather' function, and tracking quantities of individual items.
I am super excited to get started on this edition of the ludum dare tomorrow. Looks like it will be a good one.
I've been practising unity a lot lately, so thats what ill be using. Hoping the theme will allow for some form of fractal or recursive desing o.0
I will be live streaming my participation on twitch.tv/espress0o starting at Saturday 10:00Am CET!
2D URP set up, FMOD enabled, a timer, and a first particle system.
Im ready to get started on: LIGHT UP THE UNIVERSE
Looking forward to see what i can do in the remaining 55 hours!
Going for a teeny tiny break now. but the development stream continues in 15 minutes! twitch.tv/espress0o
After the first 6 hours of work stuff is startign to look like things! Next up, creating transformers that allow you to start a whole slew of madness with these basic components.

Am streaming the development of resources in motion throughout the jam, feel free to drop by and hang out! https://www.twitch.tv/espress0o
This afternoon i finished prototyping some core mechanics and have some cool looking playable stuff on screen! Now its time to get it to feel good while playing. This means sfx, ui, Aesthetics overhaul, and music. Also some level / game design to get it all together.
This is what the game looked like at the end of prototyping, lets see what it looks like in 6 hours!

Will be streaming @ www.twitch.tv/espress0o
Now that I have the basic mechanics implemented and a first pass of polish done, im gonna go ahead and do some level design to find the fun. Today is all about production, getting content and gameplay in there, maybe some story, and just finishing it up. About 14 hours to go for me, lets see how we do.
