Here's a first attempt at Ludum Dare Compo. Didn't get too far, but I shall leave progression for another day. 😛

I'm excited to attempt the LD45. I just started playing around with the base concept and have some rough art sketched out. But first, here's a quick preview of the prototype scene with player controls.
Finished up with pushing a block around the place.
Got the player walkcycle done and ready for export :D
I had so much fun animation in Aseprite! I love how easy it is to pick up, especially since Im coming from Adobe Flash / Animate
After playing around with Construct 3 for a while, I think I'm getting a bit faster at setting up player controls
Here's the flushed out character with player inputs
Hero Idle pose integrated into the player controls. On releasing any key, the hero goes back to the idle pose / animation
We now have updated walk cycles and instructions. Next steps - level design ;)
Enemy Spikes spawning collisions and destroying them when the spikes goes down is complete. I need to learn how kill the player and change its sprite to the ‘death’ state.
Finished a first pass at the intro animation and scene transitions. The level design is going to be a bit of a challenge ;)
I am pretty sure my Compo submission wont happen. But that has not stopped me from progressing with the game as a whole. If the prototype feels not so broken, this will be released before the Jam ends :D
