Only got 36 hours
Due to a time difference mix up and travel plans I've only got 36 hours for my first LD. I'll still give it a crack and get something rough and horrendous playable and ready to go!
Try again properly next time :)

My highscore is 200 - can you do any better?

Unfortunately with a 1pm start here in NZ I lose half a weekend day.
Still very keen to put something together. I need the Jam to give me a kick to get some games made.
Planning on using Godot and whatever art and music tools do the job
Good luck everyone!
Not totally excited about the theme but I've been so excited about getting back to making games I'm going to stick with it. After a pile of brainstorming, I've got an idea finally.
Going to risk learning Godot in 3D at the same time so don't have high hopes for how its all going to turn out :)
Best get on with it!
Work Life Balance is a work simulator, your spend your entire life performing menial tasks to earn profits for the corporation.
I've written a postmortem about the development process and decisions I made along the way, including the origins of the infamous sound effects and some small strategy notes.
My own highest score is 6 minutes 28 seconds for $3,624.00. Feel free to have a read or just have a play and let me know if you can beat that :)

EDIT Sorry I didn't publish the devlog on itch! Try again :)

I wrote a postmortem / long form article over here on itch and then forgot to publish it before linking to it. Sorry for that! https://dignz.itch.io/work-life-balance/devlog/79560/making-of-work-life-balance
A rambling account of the decisions and development process for my LD44 game Work Life Balance..
If anyone can beat 6 minutes 28 seconds OR $3,624.00 profits for the corporation let me know! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/work-life-balance

Must say I'm stoked with these results. Better than last time and I'm going to do even better next time! Thanks for the feedback.

Hey all, first time doing the jam as a team, with my 8 year old son. I'm hoping to get contributions from the 7 year old and the 2 month old as well!
Should be interesting - can we count it as home schooling?
I like the idea of the Extra format, I've never been able to dedicate enough time over a weekend to get to where I want to get to so I might make that extended deadline a fallback option if kids / work / life get in the way in the next couple of days.
Other than that keen to get involved. Working solo - most likely using Godot in order to take a break from Unreal.
Fun times.
