Now that I've added a status bar that follows the camera my characters are disappearing underneath it:

I guess I'll make the left interior of the follow box thicker by the width of the status bar, unless I'm missing something obvious...
It really was as simple as making the game world wider by the width of the status bar and increasing the padding of the camera frame.

Most of the core mechanics are there, we set out to make a coop twin-stick arena shooter and that's pretty much what we ended up with. There were a few mechanics that we had to cut due to time but I'm pretty happy that it looks like Henri and I will complete our second Ludum Dare Jam together. We'll throw together some controls instructions and an end screen tomorrow but otherwise, it's pretty much done.
Here is the dash move we added:

Henri (11) and I have done two Ludum Dare's together, first when he was 7 we collaborated on Cursed! (https://disperse.itch.io/cursed)
Then when he was 10 we worked on SHURIKA! together (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/shurika)
We don't have much time this weekend but are working on a multiplayer board game together inspired by Agricola and Kerbal Space Program. Sacrifices will be made to launch your rocket first.
I'm using IntelliJ IDEA, Vue.js, and Express.js to program the game and Henri is using Pixaki for the graphics and perhaps Garage Band for the music. I use BFXR for the sound effects.
Henri finished the art for our rocket ship!

Welp, not sure I'm going to finish in time, got the basic UI mocked up and some ideas for the game along with a multi-player server. Need to stop for the night and may try again tomorrow. Here's how the game currently looks:

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the total number of games submitted?
Is this information available from ldjam.com via some sort of public API endpoint?
We're
Henri (12)- Pixel Art, Music, and Creative Ideas
Mark (42)- Code
We have participated in a few of these before and actually completed 3 games that I can remember.
Using: Phaser (JavaScript), IDEA, Ableton Live, Bfxr, Pixaki

Progress was made.
We have a saboteur on the train!

My daughter @Addy and I are participating in our 5th Ludum Dare together.
We first teamed up 7 years ago when she was 7! (https://disperse.itch.io/cursed) and most recently participated in the 46th Ludum Dare (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/stoker).
We're both very excited to resume the tradition.
I'll be coding the game in IntelliJ IDEA using Typescript and Phaser 3 with Vite (starter template: https://github.com/disperse/ld51).
Addy will be making the music and sounds using Ableton Live and the art using Aseprite.
Rosie the cat is on technical support duty and will be monitoring the phone.

Providing much needed artistic support, look at this cute ghost!

How do you like our ghostly projectionist?

Should I be concerned that the link isn't appearing or will it appear once the Jam has ended?
Have a super busy weekend, hosting an open mic tonight and a board game meetup tomorrow so not sure how much we'll be able to get done. The team is me, disperse, doing code and programmer art so far, and my daughter doing sound effects, music, and better art assets. We're playing with the "Signal" theme by playing a game where you are a catcher trying to pass signs to your pitcher without them being stolen by the opposing team.

I have to head out for the evening but made some progress and will continue working on it tomorrow morning.
