Made tons of progress today. The ants are building some pretty interesting tunnels. Still tons more to do though. All of us are having a blast and are pretty optimistic about how the final product will look. We may finish this game yet!
Since I forgot the summary last time; Puissant is your standard collect resources and defend your structures type of game, but with ants. The interesting part is that you don’t have full control over the ants. You can only (strongly) persuade them in certain directions trough the use of different pheromones. How long will your colony survive?
Getting ready for my second round of LudUm Dare. Here’s my toolbelt:
* Engine – Html5 & Threee.js
* Models – Blender & Gimp
* Sound – http://www.bfxr.net/ & http://abundant-music.com/
Unfortunately I won’t be finishing my game for this ludum dare.
To put it simply the game that I currently have just isn’t the game I wanted make. I’ll continue to work on it, but well after the compo and jam end.
My take on the theme was “Your enemies are your weapon”. In the game enemies would progress towards your base. The goal is to destroy all enemies before they reach your base. At certain locations you could transform an enemy, and depending on the enemy a different action would occur. The enemies I had planned would either turn to stone, forcing the others to turn around, or blow up, destroy all the other enemies around them.
