Hi,

this is not my first LD, but I hope this will be the first  that I actually finish.

Seeing my current mental state (affected by the cold weather), this theme will be easier than I have previously anticipated… Muhahaaa… I don’t know how I will get sound, music or artwork for my game though… but I’m sure it will work out, somehow.

(Anyway, time to start up with a Touhou boss theme medely to put me in the mood.  No, I don’t think it will be a bullet hell…)

End of the first day. I actually got farther than last time, so I guess it is already an accomplishment. Being said that I hope I will have time to finish the main elements.

What is done:
– Tile engine that scrolls with the player character
– Basic collision detection
– Brainstorming for ideas

What is not done:
– Script to trigger events and create objects
– Collidable objects, hostile entities, some kind of weapons
– Put text on screen and create a choice mechanism
– Music, Sound
– Decent artwork

The name of the game is “You are the Hero”. Who is thrust into the snowstorm to fix the problems of those thankless villagers again…

And that thing at the character’s legs might be a goat, will decide sooner or later.

At the minus 6 hour mark, I hit rock bottom, 75% finished is usually the state when I lose all motivation. Since then, I managed not to bail out, and the game is coming together nicely. It won’t be great, much shorter than I planned, and will have a ton of cut features, but it will be done.

I have finished the game. (Sort of…) Let’s just say that this is the closest I ever got to a submittable entry. Sadly, there was no time to add sound and music, the “story” feels a bit rushed, and the artwork is terrible, but I actually reached the finish-line, so to say. I think I have learned a lot.

Now I’m off to sleep, since it’s almost 03:30 here, looking forward to your (hopefully more enjoyable) entries.

Oh, by the way, can we just pretend that that little black blob at the protagonist’s feet is actually a goat?
