This year I’ll be entering the jam with a friend of mine.
We’re going to using:
The people who made Antidote made a video of themselves playing Slime Quest.
Antidote
Check out their game if you haven’t played it already, you won’t be disappointed. If you are interested in seeing the video on Youtube click here. Thank you guys for playing our game and sharing it on Youtube.
We have team of 3 including myself. I will be helping art and programming, but mostly will be focusing on music and sound this time around. I’m looking forward to relaxing and making some music instead of pulling my hair out debugging and implementing functions. This is my 3rd ludumdare.
Language: Java + lwjgl
Music/Sound: fl studio
Art: Flash/Photoshop
IDE: Netbeans and Eclipes
Note to all the new peoples: Sleep normally, you will get more done if you sleep instead of drilling away at the code. Speaking from experience it will cause more problems if you don’t sleep.
8 am here. It’s almost time for bed. Here’s a small mock up. Needs a lot of work =/. Tonight was just random graphics to get us started. Tomorrow I’ll refine what works and throw out the rest. I’m going have to get rid of the back stroke around the objects and the adjust the colors on everything to fit the character better. Goodnight ludum and good luck.
This will be my 4th ludum dare. We have been looking forward to this for a while since we couldn’t enter the last 2 jams. I hope we show improvements from our last score since we had nearly a year to hone in our skills. This will be our first time with Construct 2 which is a really fast tool for making something that at least resembles a game in a short amount of time.

With all of your awesome comments about how we should keep going with the project.
I have been giving a lot of thought to doing a post-compo, and have decided that I’ll only work on a post-compo version is if it was to be a full-fledged game, not just bug fixes. In order for this to become a reality, I really need a community backing it. I have created a Google group and if we get 15+ people to join, then I’ll start working on it. Basically, I’m looking for an audience for the game. This is extremely important to us because there’s nothing worse then pumping your heart and soul into a project to realize that no one cares to even play it when you’re done, which has happened to us before.
If you want to join the group, then go here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/save-the-giant and apply for membership. I don’t want to make this group public, because this will act as the dev group. There will be a section for public builds if it makes it that far.
If you haven’t played our game, please check it out and let us know if this is a good idea. Leave a comment here if you would like us to play your game in return. Thanks in advance for your support.
Hopefully our entry comes out better than last time, but I don’t imagine it being much worse. This time were going to a 3/4 view top down game of some sort. We hope the theme lends itself well to the rogue-lite/like genre, because we’ve been talking about making a rogue-lite/like for LD. I’ll focus on code and sound instead of balancing graphics, code and sound. I wasted a lot of time last time on tweening animations to perfection instead of solving issues in the game. We aim to keep the project simple; last time we ran out of time making our entry buggy and down right un-fun to play. Hopefully we’ve learned from our past mistakes.
Anyone who is a big fan of the rogue-lite/like genre feel free to comment with what you love about the genre to give us some direction. This will be the first real attempt at that genre.
