Ludum Dare 45

We're in!

Back to Ludum again after a small hiatus, we're super excited! Team of two, will be using GameMaker Studio 2.

Thanks

I hate it

Brainstorming

Slow progress, but with the help of a trusty mindmap we've decided on a couple of routes we can take. Prototyping before commiting to a single idea, but we have to decide soon!

Flappy Bat - A Development Timelapse

logo_less.gif

Hello! We've created a development timelapse for our submission, Flappy Bat! It shows the evolution of the project from the humble beginnings of the jam to the final published version!

If you would like to play the game before watching the video you can find it at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/flappy-bat

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hERbgPB7syk

The game is made in GameMaker Studio 2, and this timelapse would not have been possible without using source-control (bitbucket and sourcetree). It really helped us (team of two) collaborate during the project! If not already, do yourself a favor for the next jam and get started using some type of source control! :floppy_disk:

Things are moving!

After a short sleep once the theme had been revealed we started working on our favorite idea! Still got a ways to go, but it's nice seeing some progress!

You win!

We finally managed to add the win condition for the player, almost feels like a real game now!

The plan is to use the remaining time today to finalize the core loop, and then start making levels tomorrow morning!

Hope the jam is going well for all!

5 Minutes to spare!

We made it, not a minute (only 5) too soon! bot.copy() is released! Hope you can play it when rating happens, and looking forward to play everyone's games!

bot.copy() running on Steam Deck!

Godot allows us to easily export a Linux build, meaning we can run bot.copy() on Steam Deck!

We've also ported the game to HTML5 and MacOS, in addition to the previous Windows and Linux builds, if you would like give it a try! We have not been able to test the MacOS build, so it might not be fully functional, but we hope it is!

Now it's time for some playtesting of other games from the event, looking forward to playing some great submissions! Leave a comment on our page if you would like us to play your game!

bot.copy() Linux build running on Steam Deck!

Really fun seeing our game running on a handheld device, and good to be able to confirm that our Linux build works!

We also have builds for Windows, HTML5 and Mac! (Although the Mac build is untested)
