Earth Moon Smash Squadron

Hi all, this is my first game jam and my second game I've ever "released". I had a blast doing this and I'm more inspired to work on my long time projects after this!

The game itself is just a small, slightly wonky endless physics based bullet hell game. I made everything except the font that is used in the game. It is a quick game and you'll get everything you really need to know on one play through.

Give it a try if you wish! Download https://darrell-wulff.itch.io/earth-moon-smash-sqaudron

Second Ludum Dare, first 3D game!

So this time I wanted to make something that involved the theme mixed with a 3D platformer! I ended up working so much on the character controller that any other time went into level design and the mechanics. It basically looks like a plain 3D Unity project, but the character movement feels actually really solid.

Feel free to give it a try! Each colored orb you collect changes the level and makes it more "challenging".

It can be frustratingly difficult and some of my super quick level design makes it difficult for the wrong reasons. Overall it was really fun to make! I am definitely not stopping and going to develop this further.

In and back for more pain!

Wow this will be my fifth ludum dare! It feels like yesterday I was holding my breath rushing to get my game working for ludum dare 38. One big thing I have taken away so far is to start very small. It seems really simple, but its incredibly easy to become overwhelmed by your own crazy ideas based on the theme!

Tools of the trade:

-Godot Engine

-Blender

-Krita

-Reaper

IF I am feeling EXTRA spicy and sadistic:

-I will try using the newly open sourced Xenko Engine. I've been messing around with it, so this would be a good time for some trail by fire.

-I could also switch out Reaper to make some music in the new free daw Cakewalk by BandLab.

Solid Progress

I thought up some big ideas and then cut them wayyyy down. I got the meat and potatoes of my game done quicker than I thought I was going to. Now I really want to dive into some art since I ALWAYS run out of time to do make some in game jams(when making 3d games). After art and sound/music I just need to design some levels. Any extra time I can devote to adding some more mechanics I cutt back on. Feels good, time to go on a run!

Blender my time away

Working alone means that no one tells me to stop when I really should . I think I may have gone EXTREMELY over board on making this character! I really like her, but I really should have made something much more simple. I kept her bald since I got no more Time for that. Though she is rigged, animated, and in the game! Even if I don't finish all my crazy art ideas I at least feel like I've learned a lot. prg3.png
