LD 40

After an extended hiatus...

...I will be participating in Ludum Dare again! I used to participate in LD regularly and also just develop year-round in my free time, but I lost some of my fire a couple of years ago and stopped making games entirely. Well, a bit of that fire has rekindled now, so I'll see what I can do.

Specs:

Language: JavaScript (I used to use Java primarily, but recently have become quite attached to JavaScript through my job)

Engine: Three.js (This is my first time using three.js, so hopefully things go alright)

Modelling: Blender (Of course)

Music: FL Studio (In previous jams my music was one of the better-rated categories for my games, so I played around a bit the other day to get a feel for the controls again; I totally suck now  )

Sound Effects: ~~BFXR~~ SFXR (I used to use BFXR, but I switched to Ubuntu a while ago and apparently BFXR only works on Windows and Mac...)

Ballmer's Peak Generator: Lagunitas Pilsener

Usually my games are pretty mechanically light and I spend 80% of the compo making assets and designing levels. I think this time I might focus more on having interesting gameplay mechanics though.

Good luck everyone! I'll see you at the end, sleep deprived and partially hallucinating.

Ludum Dare 46

I'm in

  • Theme voting finished: :whitecheckmark:
  • Warm ups with my development tools: :whitecheckmark:
  • 12 pack of cold brew lattes: :whitecheckmark:

I'm planning to work on my own and use all my own assets, but I'll probably enter the jam just for that sweet extra day. If I really don't like the theme though, then I might scratch my own project and instead help out with a team some of my irl friends have formed.

I'll be using Unity, Blender, GIMP, and Fruity Loops. For sound effects I'll be using a combination of sfxr and Audacity + foley sounds (I have a lot of trash piled up in my room that can hopefully be used to make interesting noises ).
