Ludum Dare 54

The first but not the last !

Hi everyone ! First game jam for me. And I already like this feeling of jumping into the unknown! Slaughtered all themes, and I love some of them (especially keep the lights on). I'm looking forward to play some games created by all of you. I'll keep the scope a bit low for this event, I'd love to finish my game in time. Conclusion: I hope you'll all have a nice jam !

A laborious experience

One full day in, I worked on the game for almost 10 hours, and I only fear one thing: not being able to code my game as I want to. But after a really quick rest, with better ideas, I was refilled with energy and found other solutions. With the game almost working, and the sprites almost done, I go to sleep.

A second laborious day !

Well, coding puts a strain on my nerves. It's the second day, I have a game that works correctly, but the point counting system doesn't work, and neither does the menu. I think if I manage to get them working tomorrow, I won't have time to put sound into the project. But I would be happy, my goal being to make a somewhat functional game. That way, year after year, I would have a history of my games. If I have one lesson to take away from my first LD, it's that it seems much more fun as a team. Have a good night, and I hope I'll be able to play as many games you all made as I can !

The end (in a happy tone)

What a lovely first Game Jam. To be honest, I'm super happy to have a complete game (complete is a big word, there is no sound), that works. It was hard, I lost a lot of time coding and debugging, but it was fun. I hope you all had a nice game jam, and I hope to see you all in April!

(A question too: is there specific places on the internet to find a team for LD??)
