LD25

Hi all

This will be my first ludum dare

Still not sure if I’ll use as3 or haxe

Since I’m extremely untalented in design, Ill just use colored rectangles for graphics :)

For sound I’ll probably record random sounds my one year old nephew produces :D

Good luck everyone

Done :)

Well I finished my first LD entry.

It is nothing special, but since I wasted entire day yesterday with idea that was way to much work I had to scrape something.

You can test it here

It was great and exhausting experince, and I’m hooked on LD

Hopefully for next LD I’ll organize better

See you all next time, cheers!

I’m in

This will be my second Ludum Dare

Language: AS3 or Haxe/NME
I really like Haxe, but years of experience I have in AS3 makes me much faster in it

IDE: FlashDevelop
No matter what language i choose FD is my IDE of choice

Graphics: Adobe fireworks, Flash, Pickle, TexturePacker

Sound: sfxr and if I have some time left, I’ll mess a bit in Fruity Loops

Here are few tips for newbies I learned firsthand  previous time I participated

Use familiar tools/workflow
As tempting as it may be to try some new language/framework tooling. 48h is really short when you spend large chunk of that time googling for something.

Simplify things if necessary
It is better to have simpler game that is finished than no game at all

Don’t burn yourself
This is the biggest mistake I made. I managed to finish my game several hours before deadline, but I was so tired I had no strength to add finishing touches. Sometimes a little bit of polish can do miracles to your game

Have fun
After all this is all that matters

Good luck everybody :)
