Ludum Dare 48

We're in!

Hey, everyone!

Happy to join Ludum Dare 48 in a dream team of 6 talented women  It's 4 coders with different expirience and 2 artists: Azaliya, Natalia, Sasha, Lisa, Nastya and me, Zhanna!

Here's what Natalia says:

"I have always wanted to participate in a game jam but I was afraid that I won’t have enough time. I’m a mom of a very active 4 year old boy who thinks that both my notebook and my iPad should be his not mine. But this year I decided to give it a try, mostly as a second artist. I'm not an artist, actually I’m a web developer, but I took two online drawing courses last year, and have always been interested in making art projects. So we’ll see if I’ll be any use for our team."

Let's give her some support! :hugging:

And I'm a game developer, doing UI stuff for mobile games at work and making my little game about fashion in free time. It's my 3rd time and I'm going to have so much fun, I swear!   Follow me on twitch, I will stream some progress probably!

I still have some time to sleep lol XD Good luck, everybody!

12 hours later...

Ok, not exactly 12, but we've been working all day! We've created 3 levels, menu, animated character and some nice art which you'll see tomorrow :smirk: Currently we are working on enemy animations and behaviour.

Meet Azaliya:

"I am game developer. I love making games, playing games and also I love game jams. I hope this game jam will be fun and gives me a lot of experience."

Here's what Sasha has to say:

"I love drawing and ldjam is my first experience in creating animation sprites for character, backgrounds, environments and different props. I am extremely happy to be here and come up with something new."

How is it going everyone?

Post-LD post

Sooo, we've managed to submit just in time! Even before tha submition hour :v: But that was a race nevertheless  Azaliya had support tho XD So cute!

Most games that I've seen so far are about some kind of diving into the sea or digging underground. Not that much peaople decided on psycological "diving", just like IRL, ha? Did you get that she was throwing food at her problems like house loan, failed relationships, childhood fears and stuff?

We had several first timers in our team, lets hear them!

Nastya:

"LD48 was the first jam for me. I am a no fun programmer and games are not really my thing. But I really loved this eprerience. When you write a bunch of words and then you see flying arrows all over the screen it's a joy. But the best part of course was working with my team, which is the best team of all."

Lisa:

"This Ludum Dare is my first experience in creating games. Up to this point, I have not worked in Unity at all, and the only help was knowledge of java, which is very similar to C# :) The first two days were difficult as I had to figure out how everything works in a short amount of time. However, on the last day I was already drawn in and really enjoyed the process, from the fact that something began to work out. And the team I am a member of helped me a lot. I was really lucky to be on this team. It was fun and a little crazy :)"

Yeah, I can agree with both of them  It was joyfull and crazy at the same time! Personally, I'd like to jam offline next time! Just like in good old lan-party with pizza and some drinks  Hope the epidemic ends by october! Althought streaming feels a bit like a party when friends hang out on your stream heh Thanks, girls!
