Hi everyone, looking forward to our first Jam!

Hey everyone, this was our first family game jam...had a great weekend! Please try it out and let us know what you think.

Technical notes:
We made this with a homemade engine I've been working on based on LWJGL. It works fine on the various computers I have around the house but really interested (worried?) to find out if it works out in the wild. The itch app offers versions with and without an embedded Java runtime, and the google docs link is for the Java runtime embedded version. I think that one is the most likely to work, but download is a little bigger.
Thanks, hope you can enjoy it!
Hi Everyone, thanks so much to all those who rated us so far...we've had a lot of fun checking out other games!
I'm working on getting a Mac version published, and also will work on reducing the size of the download for the game!

Hello, thanks so much to those who have rated Dr. Needles so far! I was able to remove some bulk from my engine today so put up a smaller file for the download. I haven't gotten to a Mac version yet, but will try soon. Please try it out if it looks interesting!

I haven't gotten to the MacOs port yet (soon I hope), but I've reduced the Windows download size a lot.
Please try it if it looks interesting:

My engine is homemade and brand-new so please let me know if you try the game and it doesn't start or work correctly. We've gotten a lot of good feedback so I know the game is working for most people, but I really want to know if you can't run the game for some reason.
thanks to everyone for a great game jam....this has been very cool!

Hey everyone, thanks so much to all of you have rated and commented on our game. This has really been a great experience!
I've posted what I think is our last update for the Jam, which is just to fix some of the collision issues that people have commented on and I was able to reduce the download size some more. Please try it if you haven't yet, and we'll be trying to do some more rating this week as well.

Congratulations everyone! This was our first game Jam and we were really happy to participate, actually finish something and get ranked! For me it was a total shakedown of a 2 month old engine that I was crazy enough to try for the Jam! We'll be back!
@fish-sticks and @melon-spirit and I are back after our 1st Ludum Dare in October! I've made some improvements to my 2d engine (based on lwjgl) and we'll use Gimp for art, Ableton and/or Reaper for audio. Looking forward to it!
Oh, and getting my 2nd covid shot the day before....hope I'm up to it!
Mankind's knowledge has been preserved by machines. Can you dig it?

We've got a lot of things coming together and probably our most ambitious attempt at a game jam game. How deep can we go?

The deeper you go, the deeper it gets! Can you obtain the answer to the Unanswerable Question?

Hi everyone, our 2nd Jam is done and ready to play! Please try it out and let us know what you think.
I hope you attain the knowledge you seek!

We completed our 2nd Jam and hopefully and had a lot of fun. I wanted to exercise some new features of my engine with this one -
A tile map shader making it easy to create large tile worlds, some very basic lighting, and particles.
For the most part I was happy with the new toys...the tile map does seem to have some artifacts on one of my computers that is annoying to me so will be interesting to see how it does on other computers.
This time we made a story line that is basically an excuse for a platformer, hopefully it will be fun and as a bonus, you get to find out the meaning of life if you make it to the deepest level. Good luck!

For those who haven't, can you attain the knowledge?

This was our 3rd ludum dare jam and was a lot of fun! For this one I'm trying out the 2nd incarnation of my engine based on lwjgl. These are always a 2-day jam for us because of work and school, so we pretty much finished last night and will be publishing the game this afternoon. Looking forward to rating some games!
