The Game Title

My friend/artist August is doing the jam with me this weekend, and we’re working on a supervilian themed isometric puzzler where you send your (seemingly infinite) minions into the level to do your bidding (ie, steal stuff to make a doomsday device).

This menu screen may have been the first thing done:
The Game Title

After that, I mostly worked on geting isometric coordinates from x,y pixel coordinates. Here is our latest game screen mockup:

There’s a lot left, and it’s not playable yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

ooooOoh. Iso :)

Walking dude, check.

walkingThought I’d post more art progress, since my programming progress is CRAP. (Isometric is hard. Maybe only because math is hard. Maybe only because I’m lame.)

Anyway, at least I’m not the only one complaining. August just said “If we ever do this again, the protagonist is going to be made of paper bags.”

Here’s some sweet spikes.

Graphics look rad. Isometric is a real pain in the ass.

Video showing off what we completed

So, it would probably be easy to get a lot more done from here. If I’d had more time, I would have implemented a bunch of levels using just the mechanics we completed, but I didn’t, so we only have one playable level. I made a video to show off what we completed here. I forgot to mention in the video that the little guy is a “minion” or “henchmen”, and you’ll basically get a set number to “use” to get to the goal (currently just gold bars to fund world domination) and complete the level.

The video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHV6KIb8kZI

LD31 Icehouse Pyramid Wallpaper

icehouse_ld31_1920x1200

I was already playing with some icehouse game design ideas today, so I decided maybe I should do an icehouse game for LD31. Then I made this wallpaper.

Available in two sizes 1680×1050 and 1920×1200.
