Ludum Dare 57

First time participating!!!

Remember starting watching game jam process videos on YouTube about 12 years ago, sadly can't find the specific video. But was amazed at how one person or a team could create a game in such a short timeframe.

And then finally this year I had a friend who were willing to participate with me, which made it so much more doable in my head! And man I can only say we had a blast creating our game! We discussed a lot how we could create a game that was 2D centred around the theme, and eventually land on we should just make a 3D game!Screenshot 2025-04-11 at 00.13.56.png

Been sometime since I worked in Blender and created 3D models, but time was not in any participants favour and definitely not ours with no experience in game jams. So the only reasonable thing was booting Blender up and begin creating low-poly models. While @pizzabudet420 began working on the core mechanic.

After a great weekend and some frustrating hours getting everything to work and fixing merge conflicts in GitHub, we actually finished and uploaded for our first game jam.

And man am I happy being finished and seeing what all of you manished to create, from story-driven, endless scrollers to balatro inspired games.

If any of you would like to try it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/57/blurred-escape

And please suggest any good games you tried, would love to give some more games a go!
