I will add more info on my game.

INTERACTION :

1) Doing mission
a) need some requirement : effectiveness (minions + equipment), science unlocked, money.
b) bring reward : money, blueprint, material
2) blueprint are used in the laboratory
3) material are used in the workshop and maybe in laboratory
4) money are used to hire minions (maybe salary)

With this simple way, you have some loop to increase your resource flow.

5) Some alert can be triggered sometimes
a) dedicated to a mission in progress (agent defend the treasure)
b) unlocked after doing some mission (like after steal some art, agent are coming to take it back)
c) random “disaster” when a research/craft occurs. (explosion, fire, monster, ..)
d) random “mail” anytime

PATTERN SINGLETON !!!
