Mini-LD #36 Test Test Test

My entry will be late because I was on my holidays during the submission deadline :(

I’m still going to upload my entry anyway.

However, I am having issues with viewing the game on my laptop, so I would be greatly appreciative if anyone in this amazing community would download the game and attempt to run it as a test for me.

If the game runs fine, then I’ll upload it again later, with a few changes!! :)

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Nope, can’t see it. i’m on a windows 7.

Mini-LD #36 Bloodbath

Here is my game for the Mini-LD #36. The reason it is late is because the deadline date was during my holidays, so I had to start early, and submit late.

To say that this is only my second real game created in Java, I am pretty happy with the result.

I took Folis’s die to win idea, and the aim of the game is to get killed as quickly as possible to fill the bath full of blood.

Here are some screenshots:

Nice little game! But you should add some instructions. At first I thought you control the guy throwing stuff :)! I like the blood physics very much which matches perfectly the pixel style of your game. You can see that you put most of your efforts into this effect. The gameplay could use some improvement. It gets boring very quickly and the jump controls feel a little bit sloppy. Maybe you could add more ways to die then just beeing hit by a blue something. Or you could make multiple levels in which you always have to find out how you can die as quick as possible. I think it realy has some potential!

I am in… decisive!

Not sure if I am able to get work off for this forthcoming Ludum dare, but if I can, then I’m definitely in! :)

Suppose I am in, it’ll be my first Ludum dare, and I am both nervous and excited! My main worry is that I wont be able to get the game done in time, because I’ll probably get distracted with programming the cool little features of the game instead of the actual main gameplay :/

Recently, I’ve come up with a 2.25D game system, so hopefully the theme is something I can revolve my system around.

Anyway, who knows, I could come out with a totally awesome game!! :)

Stuff I will be using:

IDE: Eclipse

Language: Java

Library: None (Because I’m hardcore :P)

Graphics: Paint.net

Sounds: Microsoft sound recorder (Located in the accessories folder :P)

Music: Ableton live

Well, that’s me! :)

And good luck to everyone!!!

Here is my not-game peon simulation thingy!

Tools used – Eclipse/java.

All graphics are generated in game.

Thanks to notch for the pixel method! :)

Hope you enjoy!

May I ask which pixel method you’re referring to?
