Post your games for me to play tomorrow!

Jam is nearly over, it's getting late where I'm at so I'm heading to bed. Hope you all had an awesome weekend of making games, I certainly had a lot of fun putting my game together. I ran out of time to add music and sounds, but at least I eventually managed to get all the game mechanics done in time.

I'm really looking forward to playing and rating a bunch of games every day for the next few weeks until the event ends, so to make sure I don't miss yours, please drop a link in the comments to this post and I'll play it as soon as I have some time! If you'd like to also play and rate my game that would be cool, but I'm not requiring you to if you'd rather not.

I'm on linux, and unity browser games don't always work for me in firefox, so I'll prioritise anything that isn't unity engine that runs in my browser. If you've got a Pico-8 game (one of us! one of us!) then please also let me know if it's on splore - I'd love to be able to play it on my RGB30 in all it's high definition pixelated glory.

My game if you're interested. (you can play it in your browser)

If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime!

Play 'Bail Out!' (web browser version + stand-alone binaries available).

Play as a skateboarder who has been summoned to make an appearance at court before noon and pay a fine for the "crime" of skateboarding. Except you don’t have any money and noon is only 2 minutes away! Skateboard around the city gathering as much loose change as you can find and make it to the courthouse in time. Just don’t get caught by the cops!

PSA to Developers who see Twitch streamers offering to play games on stream

It is a pay to win system. Be prepared to wait hours (ie 5+ hours) of your life watching a stream in order to be moved up a queue (or entered into a 'raffle') only to be continually ignored in favour of people willing to dump money. It is not worth the wait, you'll be forced to watch hours of absolute garbage just for a couple of minutes of feedback from someone who doesn't care about you, your time, or your game. The people watching in chat are also not there to see your game, they are in the same boat as you, just hoping that you get fed up and leave before they do so they don't have to stick around longer.

AVOID LUDUM DARE GAME STREAMERS LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Have you got the time to pay back the fine?

Is my game worth continuing to develop post-jam?

I'd like some honest opinions from people here. Do you think that the game I made is worth continuing to develop further? If so why and what would you like to see expanded on? If not, what is the game lacking to make you not want to play it? I'm aware that there are currently a few performance issues, and the collision detection can be a bit janky. What I want to know is, is it worth me taking the time to fix these things up and release a more polished version of the game? I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has.

Can't compete this time around

Of all the weeks to have to work over the weekend, it just had to be this one! Well, looks like I'm not going to have any time to make anything for the jam, but I really love the theme this time and can't wait to play and rate all your games. Good Luck and Have Fun to everyone taking part!

I've decided to try and make something afterall

I know I said I wasn't going to have time this weekend to make something for the jam, but I've managed to throw this little prototype together in a couple of hours, and honestly I quite like it so far. Still need to add the scoring system and ui, and add some fun particle effects (something exciting needs to happen when the tractor and rabbit meet). I may even find some time before the deadline to make some music and sound effects (unlikely but hey if you do audio in pico 8 and would like to collab, hit me up, I'd appreciate the help.)

Let me know what you think.

Work continues

I'm making some progress with my compo game, I've got the full game loop working and I've added in some new features. Still need to balance it and work out a couple of bugs, oh and music and sound effects (must not forget about those!). How's it looking so far though?

Hope you're having a great time with your projects.

My first Compo entry is done!

With still a couple of hours left before the deadline I managed to actually create a complete game in a weekend where I only had ~12 hours to make something. If you're also already done with yours why not be the first to give this game a rating and some feedback? Leave a link to your game in the comments and I'll give it a play too.

Have you made a Pico-8 game this weekend?

If so I want to play and rate it! Please leave a comment with a link to your ludum dare game page and I will play it and leave feedback over the next couple of days.

I also made my game in Pico-8 and it's awesome to see what people using the same limits came up with in a weekend. Feel free to play and rate my game but don't feel you have to if it's not something you're interested in.
