The Lone Terraformer

After leaving Earth X years ago, the humans detected water forming again on earth. They send back a robot(you) back to earth to make it more habitable. It’s a puzzle game where you terraform earth!

Still need to add intro, menus, clouds, inventory and robot feedback/status/help.

progress so far….

Hey man, this looks good. Can I interact with the current state of the game? I’d like to play it!

Postmorten & Timelapse

This was my first time and it was really fun! Although I liked my warmup game a lot more than the one I made for the compo/48.

Things I want to do better next time:

  • Sound – I totally neglected this, mainly due to inexperience
  • Set up a framework beforehand so I don’t have to write so much boilerplate
  • Design a better game. or at least something that is easier to understand by the player.
Things that went well
  • I finished?

Here’s My timelapse !

Oh and game is here:

I’ll be making it in HTML/JS/CSS See update below

Will publish to http://hyperturtle.net

Source code will be at https://github.com/hyperturtle/hyperturtle.github.com

I’ll be using a framework i’ve been working on. It’s mostly a simple entity system, spatial indexing/collisions, and integrating SoundManager for audio.

https://github.com/hyperturtle/gg.js/blob/master/assets/js/gg.coffee

Other stuff I’ll use:

Other tools:

  • photoshop
  • illustrator
  • bsfxr/sfxr

UPDATE:

I’ve decided to mix it up and use something else. C++/SFML/OpenGL

Base template I’ve made:

https://github.com/hyperturtle/gg.cpp

Tools: sublimetext2, photoshop and bsfxr/sfxr

Still will publish to http://hyperturtle.net

And source will be at the same place: https://github.com/hyperturtle/hyperturtle.github.com

Awesome! I’m also using python + pyglet, and *also* busy on Saturday. Whoop! Hit me up if you want something testing or a fresh pair of eyes for bugs 😀
