Légion étrangère enters the Jam!

Team Légion étrangère is entering the jam.  Should be great fun. Our team consists of:

  • David Ayers
  • Nik Billings
  • Ray Cassady
  • Chris Perry

We’ll be  building a java-based game using slick2d and some libraries I have built for previous games, and whatever other tools we come across as we need them.  I participated in (but didn’t finish) LD#06, but this is my first time doing this with a group. Should be fun!

Good luck everyone!

The workspace of team Légion étrangère

Here is where the madness will happen (well, maybe not madness, maybe just mild insanity?)

T-minus 25 minutes. Good luck everyone!

Our Airship flys!

Here is our Airship, cruising out over the ocean, looking for something to discover…

Airships + Sonar = Awesome

Sonar bouys in place, ocean moves now (can’t really tell from the screenshot).  Better airship graphic in place.  The team is done for the night, back at it early tomorrow morning.  Good night!

Some ships, sailing

Our airship now protects a flotilla of steamships, on their way to discover Atlantis.

Hehe, very cool.

A funny thing happened on the way to Atlantis

We found stuff to kill!

Screenshot shows sonar buoys trying to detect the enemy subs, particle effects from our steamships, and blinking lights on the buoys. Well, you can’t see them blink, but they do, trust me.

There are many enemies

Our work on our Jam entry continues. There are many enemy airships present, and some clouds.  Game is looking decent and is fun to play, but way too hard.

Finished up our jam entry, playable here through java web start:

Enjoy!
