I believe I shall be participating

I’ve never done this before. Should be fun.

I’m going to be using javascript/HTML5 canvas.

Git for version control. Gimp for graphics.

Sound…I have no idea. I’ll burn that bridge when I come to it.

About base code. I’ve been toying with a very specific game mechanic, but obviously I don’t know if this mechanic will work with the theme. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, it’s just that the mechanic I have in mind involves a table of 256 12-bit integers. Obviously I can’t write that by hand and remain sane. It’s a pretty well-known algorithm, and the tables are publicly available. If you’ve done it before you probably already know what I’m talking about. Do I need to post the table here? I don’t even know if I’ll be using it yet, since whatever the theme ends up being might conflict with my idea.

Changing my toolset

Previously I stated I was going to make an HTM5 app. I’ve since decided to switch to Pygame. Its event system makes more sense to me.

Nice, HTML is not a good choice for applications anyway.

Go with what you are most familiar with. Now is not the time to learn something new.

I FORGOT THIS BLOG WAS HERE

Yeah, so I’m making a game and stuff. Don’t really have any screenies yet. Almost done with basic terrain capabilities. I will update when that’s working, then update again when actual terraingen is working (if it ever is. I might just go with pre-designed levels if it gets down to crunch time and I need a game)

By the way I’m making a resource-management space combat type thing. Sort of. You’ll see, hopefully.

I’m being realistic

There’s no way I’m going to finish in time for the 48h compo. So I am officially switching to the jam. I hope that’s allowed.
