We’re In!

Hi there, me and a friend kyle are going to be entering this year both of us for the first time!

I’m planning to do the development, probably in html5 canvas and javascript to allow people to play it in just the browser. I’m a web developer as a day job but don’t have a huge amount of javascript experience so it should be fun to try. I’m going to figure out what libraries I want to use if any this next week.

Kyle will be behind the art, design and sound and is currently planning to make some kind of puzzle game, theme allowing of course.

Wish us luck.

End of Day One

It’s my first ever game jam and I’m loving it! We decided to interpret the theme by making a spelunky / Indiana jones inspired platformer, hopefully with some cool mechanical traps. I’m happy that we have a technically complete game (you can win and die) and still have some time for new features and polish.

Here is the link for the git hub pages site which will be hosting the latest version of the game. (excuse the programmer art, kyle is busy making pretty pictures.)

We finished!

We’ve finally finished! I’ll post a full post mortem tomorrow when I’m less sleepy but the highlights are that despite real life interruptions we made a simple platforming game with pressure plates. I’m quite happy with it as a first game, despite it being a little unimaginative.

If you could spare a few minutes and give me some feedback that would make me very happy, It’s playable in browser!
