First timer

This is my very first try on a Jam, been watching Ludum Dare Compo for a few times now as one of my friends participate in them.
I’ve been to the Danish, Game Development Camp, last summer which was excellent, but that is the closets I’ve been to such an event.

My tools,
Language: Java
Framework: Slick2D
IDE: IntelliJ IDEA
Sound: Audacity, bfxr. Going to record my own sound properly.

But hoping for the best!
Oh yeh, and here is my current progress of my desk (As I’ve been working for a few hours now. Just forgot to write this post)

A few post-it. Secondary screen for Livestream I'm watching and few other neat stuff.

Getting the best out of it.

I’m getting to this point where I just don’t quite know what I at least should get done.

It’s very simple game but I want to get as much more details to it from now on.
As this is my first Jam and I want to get as much done as possible!

Programming have been decent – As I expected. Stuff works mostly as intended, but I would love to get more out of it.
It’s just that, I want to fix a lot of stuff but I haven’t got the time or knowledge to it. As I know I’ll take me long before I get more added.

So today I’ve mostly been working on media such as art and sound. Art is going nice, not just as much as I wanted. And sound is.. Yeh, I’ve no idea! Lots of bugs and can’t get proper consistent sound.

But yeah, here is two pictures for your pleasure! :-)

Smaller badge!

This is totally wrong focus, but It’s what I like to do 😀

I made a smaller version of my badge which is 64×64 so you can give it as a Trophy to someone else!

Oh, and if needed again or you haven’t seen it. Here is the big version!

Seal of approval!

Finally done! Woah, such an awesome feeling I must say!

The game can be found here, Click Me

  • IntelliJ IDEA
  • Slick2D
  • bfxr
  • Audacity
  • Photoshop CS6
  • Pickle Editor

Plus, my game includes Potatoes (If not many!), so here is a seal of potato approval.
You’re totally free to use the Seal yourself!

Quick Update!

2013-08-24_12-03-14It’s some sort of overworld mockup!

I don’t know If I’ll just keep this sort of quick and dirty style. It was mostly just Google Images smashed together in matter of minutes just to get a sketch for now.
We’ll see if it changes.

Now to do some proper stuff!

Stepping off…

I must admit I can’t go any more on with this Jam.

First 5 hours went pretty good, but then it just went downhill
Got into some frustrating problems which put me down so I had to make short cuts to different features, which just made things go down.

Untitled-1This is what I’d done at this point. Overworld, some combat and very Primitive AI.
It was my first game with more state based system, so you can switch around screens very easily (code wise) – So I learned a lot about this and how you should work with it.

If I got the time and motivation I may do a very quick game so I could just submit something. But I wouldn’t count on that :-(

Now I’ll go and have a great time with some of my beloved ones instead.

Have a great time everyone, I’ll sure be playing some of your games and vote 😀

Your overworld looks good! Pity you can’t finish it, but well, sometimes that just happens.

Super stressed “I’m in!”

…But this is only a MIGHT join.

coffe-not-relevant

I’m posting for the sake of just remind myself to check if I got the time.

Had the urge for a GameJam for quite some time now and just couldn’t put it on my schedule yet, so I’ll try to press it right into exams and Christmas just to stress myself out even more!
There are of course other reasons than just mentally killing myself – I hope that I can come up with something really simply that I can just make in a day or something.

If everything goes well, then I could easily manage it, in a weekend on Skype or likely.

So my equipment consist of something like

  • Unity3D
  • Blender
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Sublime Text 3/Visual Studio/MonoDevelop

Of course I’ve some extra software up my sleeves depending on my demand – But I’ll post about that if I ever get to that point.

Real jammers don’t need caffeine.

Long pause, but I’m in!

Long time since I have participated in Ludum Dare.

I recently made a remake of my very first Ludum Dare 26 game, Cutato, called Cutato 3D (Both can be found at my site) where it won the first price for that Jam.

Since my last failure at Ludum Dare I have participated in several other Jams, mostly located at my University here in Denmark. I think I have a much greater experience in order to produce something!

Now I just need to see if I have the time during the weekend – But hopefully, hopefully I can join!

LD 38

I'm joining!

I am jealous off all my friends who are joining Nordic Game Jam right now. But at least I have the brand new LDJAM :heart_eyes:! I might have a friend or two join me for art and music - But let us see how everything goes.

LD 39

Woke up, thought... do I Dare?

So I am proberly in.

I like the theme. But I haven't got that much time this week. Maybe I'll join the full Jam. Let's see.

Current idea is something to do with a little robot and scavaging.

Woke up, joining!

|THE MORE YOU HAVE, THE WORSE IT IS|

```
I have no idea what I am going to do. We have a local jamsite here in Copenhagen which I am going to join in an hour.
Really looking forward to the whole thing.
Going to use Unity, Photoshop, Blender, and whatever I'll need otherwise.
Will post on Twitter occasionally at @jalict
Yesterday was bad, but today is better!
So I first started on working on this game about landing a metric ton of airplanes in a single airport. The hard part would be to fit all the planes in one Airport. As I progressed I felt that the game lacked a proper mechanic and I had a lot of roadblocks with making 3D pseudo aerodynamics.
So today I went with 2D and making it much more cute instead. I try to inspire myself by Transport Tycoon, but lets see what it will come to! :grinning: ezgif-5-84d93b625d.gif
