We're In

My son and I are participating in the Jam together. This is the first jam for us, and we're looking forward to it.

Moving along

We have several assets created and have begun scripting. Funny thing, though, that before going to bed last night, we took a quick look at Twitch and the feed we looked at was a game much like ours! His gameplay seems to be very different from what we are doing, but the theme of the game was eerily similar. That's okay, I guess, since he will be in the Compo, and we're in the Jam.

Two Days Down

After two days, much of the coding is complete. We have a feature complete game and now must work on some bug fixes (if we can ever recreate them!), some audio polish, and a bit of graphics work to make things less confusing!. It was a fun experience, and I will definitely try it again sometime. Maybe both of us will enter the compo separately for LD39!

Second Ludum Dare Jam 2/3 over???

I can't believe that the second day of my second Ludum Dare is done. The time sure flies! This time, I decided to work with both of my sons. One can program and help with some art, the other does music, sound, and art. For both jams, we decided to do something rather complex that would definitely push our coding skills. Last time was a turn-based strategy game; this time, we went with a base building game. I got to play a fairly complete and bug free version for the first time just now, and it looks like we will be right on track for tomorrow's finish.

Here's a first peek at the Cryogenic Operating System, or CryOS!

Just a few tweaks and a couple of additional features (especially win/loss conditions!) and it will be finished!

Jam Submitted

Finished my second LD jam entry with my two teenage sons. We would definitely appreciate it if you could give it a play, rating, and feedback. We always try to reciprocate.

Thanks! And for those in the Jam, enjoy the last couple hours.

Globstopper finished!

My two sons and I have submitted our second straight Ludum Dare Jam entry. (One son and I have done three in a row.)

We bring you Globstopper!

Globstopper is a schmup where the enemies can cover you with goop. The more goop you have, the slower you go. Give it a try!

The game can be found at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/globstopper

This time around was much more intense for us as I was away for the first day of Ludum Dare, so we only had 48 hours to finish. I think, though, that it's probably our best entry yet!
