Ludum Dare 50

I'm in, for my 10th anniversary!

This year marks Ludum Dare's 20th anniversary, but also my 10th anniversary of doing Ludum Dare, back in 2012 for LD23! :tada:

To celebrate I threw together a quick highlight reel of all the games I've made so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIdSMDdkEwE

Looking forward to doing this one! I'm thinking I'll probably code up a game in TypeScript without any framework but as usual I'll see where the theme takes me and whether I'll a different tool. And looking forward to seeing what others create too!

Ludum Dare helper libraries

Just quickly putting out the utility code I'm going to start with for this Ludum Dare: https://github.com/Jezzamonn/ld-base

Basically just the helper code for loading images, sounds, and getting keyboard input :) If anyone is also using TypeScript, feel free to use them!

Come play my online multiplayer game with me!

Hi all! I made a online co-op multiplayer game where you work together to stop a rampaging kitty!

The game is a lot more fun if you play it with other people, so to help people get the multiplayer experience for rating it, I figured I'd post about it here! If you're reading this now, come and join me and defend our mouse village!!

Play it here (Web, HTML5)

Ludum Dare - international flight version

I got married was yesterday which made it difficult to do Ludum Dare this time... But we leave for the honeymoon in a few minutes and I'm planning on making a game during our flight on the plane, starting now! Let's see how this goes haha

Looking for a few more folks to rate my game

Hey friends! I need just a few game rating to make it to 20!

If you're a programmer, or interested in programming, I'd love for you to try my game. It teaches you programming!

Thanks for playing my game!

I made some little post-compo tweaks to my game, including a new title screen featuring everyone that's played the game so far!

Poll for what the AI coding rules should be!

Hi all! There's a lot of discussion about what the AI coding rules are for Ludum Dare, and more importantly what the AI coding should be for Ludum Dare. As it stands, the I think the best way forward is to channel all those thoughts and opinions into a poll:

AI coding rules poll

Update (10 hours after first posting): The original poll had too many options, so I've removed some to be simpler. The options are:

  • ✅✅ All AI coding tools allowed for Compo and Jam.
  • ❌✅ No AI coding allowed for Compo. No restrictions for Jam.
  • ❌❌ No AI coding allowed for Jam or Compo.
  • ❌❌🆕 Separate category that allows AI coding. No AI coding allowed for Compo or Jam.

Hopefully this can be a good data point to figure out what the rules should be!
