Day 2, Feeling good but still a lot to do - Arranging deckchairs

LD48_4.gifDidn't have the most time this weekend and decided to work in an engine I hadn't really used before (Godot) so feeling like I've got through plenty given that, but still missing a lot of crucial elements. The game is about literally arranging deckchairs on the titanic :)

Happy enough to be finished

Almost midnight with work tomorrow morning so I think I'm out of time :sleepy:, my game is finished (fingers crossed no bugs I didn't catch in the html5 export.) feeling glad I at least limited my ambitions when working in a new engine.

Yee and Haw

YeeeHaw.gif Spent a fair amount of this afternoon trying to work out what to do with the theme and eventually settled for my silliest idea, but have some basic controls and player character art sorted.

End of day 1 for me

YeeeHaw10.gif Didn't manage to add as many of the game elements as I'd like (lost a lot of time trying to give the cowboy silly physics based arms in a way that ended up not working) but got a fair amount of art done so happy enough.

My Silly Cowboy Game is Done!

ScreenshotGif7.gif Only an hour before I need to go to work, I've completed my game about a cowboy who shoots the sun to avoid a duel. You can play it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/$284947

Completely turned around on the theme

Every ten seconds was my least favorite theme before starting the jam but after and hour or two of brainstorming and coming up with ideas I've got something I'm really excited to work on so maybe it was pretty good after all  Day 1 hour 2 gif.gif

Day one Progress

Feeling pretty happy with what I've got so far, most of the basics are done but a bit daunted by how much dialog I might need to write. Need to come up with a whole bunch of melodramatic Duelist lines tomorrow! Day 1 8 gif.gif

Day Two

Spent a lot of the day trying to write a whole bunch of deliberately cheesy dialog (which turns out is harder than it looks!) but I'm pretty happy with the look of my game, maybe some time for some last minute testing before final submission tomorrow but otherwise this is as good as it's going to get (cheesy dialog and all).Day 2 .gif.gif

Game is Live

Play it here!: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/$303685

Managed to sneak in some bugfixes and tweaks to dialog and now the game is done . Never again will I try to write 100ish lines of cheesy Hollywood dialog during a jam, my brain is only talking in terrible nonsensical one-lines. Day 3 .gif.gif
