LD 44

I'm in for the second time

My first time was LD42 and it was a great experience, so I'm excited to participate again!

I'll be using Unity and my own Unity plugin RetroKit to create the graphics, sounds and music.

I'm trying for the COMPO again, but if it doesn't work out, I may end up submitting for the JAM instead.

Question about the Compo rules

I'm a bit unsure about this rule:

Everything required to make the source work should be available publicly. If 3rd party libraries and tools are required, free or paid, that’s fine. If you’re using an internal library, to participate in the Compo, you will be required to share it.

I was planning on using my own Unity tool. (this one) For other people that would be fine since it would be a 3rd party thingy, but I guess for me it would be an internal library. It's publicly available, but in the case of an internal library, I'm unsure if that means that it needs to be open source/free or if it's okay that it's paid.

Any thoughts on this?

Made it!

Well, I finished my game in time for the compo last night. I'm pretty satisfied with it. The take on the theme might not be the most original, but I think the gameplay works pretty well.

I'm looking forward to playing your games and I hope you'll play mine and give me some some feedback on it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/crossroads

Good luck to everyone still working on their jam games!

Ludum Dare 49

I almost gave up, twice, instead I started from scratch, twice...

For some reason, I was really struggling with the theme this time. First, I came up with something that turned into something waaay too big. Then, I came up with a mechanic that never actually became a game. So I started from scratch again this morning and now finally I've got a steaming pile of game! :poop:

Jokes aside, considering that I basically turned this into a 12 hour jam, I'm pretty happy with the result. Though I would've liked to add some music and some nicer looking art, the mechanics work pretty well. And most importantly, it's actually done! Which would've never happened if I'd stuck to my original idea.

I'm looking forward play the other games! But first I need some sleep.
