Terrarium Combinarium Submitted!

Yay my game is done! Go play it now: Terrarium Combinarium! (Works in browser, also there's a windows build)

This was a fun one! I think this was the first time that I did something "appropriately" scoped. Also was nice getting back to Luxe engine.

Will post more details later, but love to hear what people think. Can you beat my highscore of 1196???

Ludum Dare 57

Depthy Depth

Alright! Excited to jump into a ludumdare this weekend! Not quite sure how much I'll get done, so far this looks like it's going to be one of those "learn stuff but don't really finish much" types of game jams.

Byt anyways, so far I've got bevy-skein working (which lets me export gameplay info from blender to bevy) and figured out how to stuff a bevy game into a react app (much more of a pain then it should be).

So pretty much almost done? just need to come up with an idea and make the game.

Salvage the Jam?

Well, this has been pretty much a disaster. I started over a few times, my new tablet stopped working, and I never really had an idea or direction that I was happy with.

I did manage to get a boat driving around though.

I've got one last idea this morning that might work, going to see if I can get that working in the time I have left.

Got something working

Ok, got something working. No way I'm going to be able to finish this but at least i'm happy with the idea.

Sonar scan is working. Can you spot the tire in the scan?

The idea is that you can use the sonar to scan the ocean floor, and then you have to go back over things and hit a button to collect them (or just scan them) and the goal is to collect at least one of all the categories, e.g. tire, barrel, whalefall, clamshell, atlantis, etc..

Sonar Boat Game Done ish

Well, my Sonar Boat Game is done! Explore the ocean floor, find all the things, discover secrets, perhaps even locate the lost city of Atlantis! (note: underwhelming)

I had a rough time this compo, mostly because I wasn't sure what I was making but in the end I had a good idea and was able to get something working, so that feels like a success. Remember, the real prize is all the unfinished prototypes you make along the way. :trophy:

If you want to try it, you can check out the game on the compo page.

(spy voice) "I'm In!"

yay ludumdare time! Going to try something a little different, using TIC-80 with Wren, so far it's been a bit confusing to set everything up but it's starting to make sense.

I have a pretty good idea, my game will be called "Numbers Station", it's about running spies during the cold war, with the main (and sometimes only) channel of communication being the signal from your Numbers Station.

Excited to see how this goes!

Not gonna finish.

Oh well, I had too vague and ambitious of a design, and kept switching engines. I definitely should have know better. But still had fun, and submitted to the "Unfinished" category so it's on my games list.

Good luck everyone that was more sensible than me!
