If you didn't know , you can use Y and N

I've read a few people complaining of worn-out mouse finger

You can use 'Y' or 'N' on keyboard instead. Probably missed by a few as it's grey on grey text

BTW - anyone figured a way to call the whole list via API? It'd be really interesting to compare how many are -

a: a theme that's already been done b: an idea that occurs multiple times ( or with different wording )

If in doubt , cats

Got my first view on Twitch yesterday, smashing it!

Screenshot 2024-04-13 115917.png

Since I have some imagination , but no time, I'm going with the theme likely 99.7% are also doing, wizards/magic etc.

UHD Graphics

Surprised I've not seen more Bread Climps yet.

I can't draw/model possums, so I'm sticking with cats.

To the Mana born

Slow progress ,and running low on caffeine and puns.

Screenshot 2024-04-14 022255.png

You're a wizard Barry.

I spent so much time trying to mash bugs I barely made any levels. Sorry! :sob:

I like to think I brought my A game with the puns though.

Play Manafest

Whoops

Another stupid rookie mistake - I composed a 7 minute track for the level, but accidentally put it as the title music, and the title music ( 30 seconds? ) as the level music. :stuckouttongueclosedeyes: Screenshot 2024-04-20 003107.png

Play Mana-fest here

Oops too late

Messing around with circles, got an almost nice looking fire , that I wish I'd have figured out how to do during the jam :scream_cat:

Made with Construct2 game engine. LazyFire-ezgif.com-video-to-gif-converter.gif

I think I need to learn godot next , do some of this with shaders or something.

Play the Game that would have had fire here - Manafest

Thanks for playing!

As an older dude with family and commitments, I didn't get to dedicate the usual time I would have done back when I was a single dude, and the time I did have, I wasted on a lot of inconsequential stuff like making the sprite left/right handed or over-thinking the block-placing mechanics :smile_cat:

Anyway -

Play Manifest ( HTML 5 / Mobile )

Jam version screenshots

Use mana to summon blocks , I did add water / fire but ran out of time building levels :sob:

Totems give you infinte mana if in range. Make it to the gate to do some magic stuff etc.

Post-Jam stuff

Added in Water and Fire elemental cats also. Screenshot 2024-05-03 202627.png

And by accident once lunchtime stumbled on how to make somewhat realistic flames using circle masks.

I think - inspired by aarimous and Brackeys return to YouTube - I might use this as an exercise in learning Godot finally.

2135 entries and no bread climp?

It took me until the compo was over to figure out how to export all the entries.

Screenshot 2024-05-05 234504.png

For anyone out the loop and not terminally online, this has been something of a meme this past month or so with AI generated images

LD 55 Stats

Don't know if there's any plans to make the data available as excel/csv/xml etc. but I've exported for LD55

https://johnnysix.net/Ludum55stats_all.xlsx

What's quite interesting is the skewness of the data, particularly for graphics and mood, where mood tends to have more negative impact vs graphics.

I guess where a game may not have a 'mood' element, and people forgot to opt-out of mood ratings, a lower-vote may impact the overall disproportionately?

In with more cats?

Maybe this time it won't be a platform game with cats? ludumemdare/emcatemsprites/emold.jpg

Tiny Creatures - And other Ideas

As usual it was the one I wasn't expecting, not sure if I'll be able to create an ant army in 2 days, maybe something simpler.

Here are the ideas I quickly tried out while awaiting the theme announcment.

Almost done

Aha - got a bunch of stuff to do on both Saturday and Sunday, so this may be a 24-35 hour thing. I have managed to get mobile controls and separate controllable mice working so far. Now for everything else , and cats.

Screenshot 2024-10-05 004244.png

Mice?

I have had a bunch of things to do over weekend so am hoping I can finish a working game on Monday?
