It's that time again...

and I am again participating with my "Team" of only one more person :D

Last jam wasn't that successfull, but we felt that we improved since the last time, so we decided to try again. Maybe you can have a look at our game when it is finished? :D

Tools used: Unity, Audacity, MuseScore and Blender

We finished our second Jam!

After once again 72 h of hard, nerve-wrecking work, we managed to finish a game to the (in my opinion) hardest theme. But honestly, it was so far very refreshing to hear all the different ideas you People came up with. I think, this was, by far, not only the hardest, but also the funniest LD.

If you want, you can have a look at our Piece of art: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/$76151

We are looking Forward to testing your games!

Hit em harder - Web version

On request we published our game as a web Version. Run it in Fullscreen mode and everything will be fine ;)

Have fun!

We need your feedback!

We still need votes to get to the scoreboard, but most importantly we need feedback to improve our game! So don't forget to leave a comment after rating, because we

1) can play your game as well

2) can improve our post-LD version

so please give it a try!

A Developer's Adventure

The adventure of becoming a developer is an example of what can happen if you start with nothing and always keep it going. To show and encourage developers we made a game where you can gather a lot of money through programming! There are no limits once you set foot in this world! The difference to other clicker games is the chance of failure, as no job in real life always works. This means you CAN lose if you are not careful enough!

Give it a try now!

I wish I could give you a highscore to beat, but numbers were counting up too fast :D

Also, leave a comment so we can play and rate your games :D

A Developers Adventure - a clicker game with a little twist

Most of you know the struggle of becoming a developer. You had to start with nothing and work your way up - mostly by yourself. If you want to see, what is possible beyond Ludum Dare, give our game a try!

Also leave a comment so that we can return the favor of voting on our game :D

We finished Turnip Turmoil

After slightly more than 70h we finally finished our game Turnip Turmoil! This time, the jam was way more relaxed than any previous games, as we finally assembled a bigger team. We are now a team of five people: - Fin (Coding and Network)
- Jonas (Coding and Music)
- Hanna (Art and Animations)
- Marius (Coding)
- Nicholas (UI Design, Coding, Music and Sound)

Since we now didn't have to work on everything in a team of two, we were able to concentrate more on the beauty of the game. Needless to say, this time I am way more proud of the graphics we produced.

ld_cover.png

The game

The basic game idea is taken from Cupheads Mausoleum levels, to which we tried to add new and own concepts and abilities. Your task is to protect a turnip in the center of your yard, which is attacked by a number of insects, all with their own paths and abilities. You yourself have ways of fighting off the insects with special abilities for more range and area of effect damage.

The biggest challenges are speed and priorities. The enemy spawner is not gentle (usually), and he will send out insects until your turnip is munched.

So your only objective is: keep it alive! At least as long as possible.

PS: If you want to try the game, look at this link! And, if you like our game: comment your feedback, because written feedback is always easier to understand ! Aaaaand: you can use the buttons in the menu scene to share an invitation via reddit, whatsapp and twitter! You can also write own challenges if you want, we unfortunately didn't have enough time to allow all means of sharing...

TL;DR: nice game like Cupheads Mausoleum, also leave feedback!

Anyways, I hope you like what we set up!

Yours,

Jonas

Challenge yourself with this seemingly simple puzzle game

splash.jpg This weekend we poured all our love and creativity into a puzzle game. This one requires you to choose the right set of moves, looped infinitely, to navigate through a map of enemies, deadly traps and cells that do all sorts of crazy things. Can you beat all the levels?

Try it out here!

If you play the game, also leave a comment so that we can return the favor

Back at it again!

Like many others, we are glad to announce that we will be crawling out of our caves once more to participate in another Ludum Dare. Unlike last time, however, we have decided to stream our full development process, 24/7, from the initial brainstorming to hitting the publish button!

As you may imagine, streaming the development process with all its ups and (mainly) downs will be a huge step for us, but we are in for a wild ride and are ready to enjoy this journey together.

We will be starting with our stream two hours before theme announcement, so if you are interested in chatting and arguing about the bad themes that made it through theme voting this time, feel free to join us early! For our streaming schedule, follow us on twitter. We will be posting updates as soon as possible!

Enough rambling, if you want to join us on our journey towards another hopefully fun and enjoyable game, make sure to follow us on twitch! ld48emtwitch/emwallpaperem1080/emzoom.jpg

Ready to rumble!

As Ludum Dare is closing in, we have almost finished preparing ourselves for the biggest task we have taken on so far: streaming our progress live and for the full 72h. And no, we are not entirely sure whether we have thought this through. To be honest, we have mixed feelings about the selected themes - I myself think a lot of them are "acceptable", while some of my teammates are already having mental breakdowns.

So far, we were always able to find some kind of game mechanic that matches the theme, so - fingers crossed - we'll manage to come up with something remotely satisfying again. We would be happy to see you on stream, starting 2h prior to theme announcement, where we will be discussing the themes in the last theme voting! Of course, since this is a competition, we politely ask you not to copy our work, but we invite you to explore approaches that didn't make it into our final vision of our game. If you do, or if you just want us to play your game after the jam, please mention me or submit your game here!

Still making progress

I am proud to say that until now we have been able to basically stream nonstop, and we still make good progress. In our game you play a diver that wants to (obviously) dive deep and find his brother. You only control his movements to the left and right, and have to collect resources while avoiding enemies that linger around in the deep sea. Right now we have a very basic prototype, but enemy behaviour and graphics will be added very soon.

I hope you join us some time in our stream, we are happy about company!

We finished Dumb Ways To Dive!

banner-dwtd.jpg

Soooo, we really had to push ourselves in the last few hours. We will publish a hotfix for our game tomorrow, because right now we have a few problems, that negatively impact game experience. However, the fix is small and we will deliver ASAP!

Talking about tomorrow: we want to play your games! If you want us to share your game live, you can submit it here, and we will play them soon!

Recreation live

Did you suffer during game development?

Have you developed hatred for the users and humanity as a whole?

Good, because we provide recreational playing YOUR LD48 games over at twitch! Come visit us there, submit your game and watch us enjoy the fruits of you labour  unknown.png

Streaming again!

Hello everyone!

After taking a longer break for the last few days, we are finally back with some more streaming! We are once again playing YOUR LD48 games, so if you need some more ratings, make sure to submit your game here! If you also want to watch us play and rate your game, you can join us here!

I will start streaming at 17:00 (UTC+2), so come and join me then!
