Ludum Dare 48

I'm in, again :)

The last time I participated was in 2016, all alone for 72 hours. This time around I have two people backing me up, one of which an amazingly great artist, the other a mind blowingly good programmer. Now let's hope we will get some sleep over the coming days.

We will be using just two tools we've never used before:

  • Phaser
  • Procreate

Good luck all!

Neptune's Whispers - an exploration game

We're really happy with how Neptune's Whispers has turned out. This was my second time doing a game jam and the first game created by us as a group. There were a lot of firsts (like the first time using Phaser) these past few days and that is what makes the LD jam so special. The following is a screenshot of the results of our efforts:

In Neptune’s Whisper you, a submarineman, are tasked with finding and freeing the queen of the sea. You will have to be careful throughout your journeys deeper and deeper to the bottom of the ocean. We have added limitations on your oxygen supply and a good number of enemies to make sure the descent is not an easy feat. Our game page is over here and you can play the game here.

We would like to congratulate everyone that was able to get to the finish line and we're looking forward to playing what everyone made!

Ludum Dare 49

We are in :)

It is going to be another weekend of sweat and tears and this time we have an even bigger team to make it happen. Half a year ago it was just the three of us and this year we'll be with five! We will even have a member dedicated to sound design.

This time around we will also be using a new game engine, Godot. None of us have really worked with it before, so this time will again start with a learning curve. But that is also part of the fun of game jams like these. And because we're using a different program for art design our artist will also have to take some time to get into the groove.

I'm sure though that this weekend will be lots of fun and I wish you guys the best of luck!
