I made it!

Insomnia - Dark Night has been published! Give it a go, people!

This was my first game jam, and I completed in time! The experience is worth it. Looking forward to #LDJAM41.

It's a horror(-ish) game; try playing with headphones, in a dark room.Cover.png

Feedback Appreciated!

Well, Insomnia was totally hurried through to stick to the deadline. I even considered just writing:

"You looking for the game? It ain't here. There is no game. Go away. Shoo, shoo!"

I know Insomnia is very short. I do have ideas to expand the game. But, excuses aside, it is what it is. I'd greatly appreciate ratings, useful comments, and user feedback. In return, I could rate your game (if it's on Android mostly)!

I need ratings!

Well, the title says enough actually. Insomnia (the current version) is an extremely short (1-2 minutes) Android game that I conjured up for the Jam.

I already have major stuff planned out, though I'd probably make it a sequel rather than change literally everything. Plus the code of the current version is messy.

Anyway, if you can spare a few minutes, play Insomnia (WITH AUDIO thank you very much) and give me ratings and maybe even comments!

Thanks a lot.!

P.S. Here's a screenshot!

The 41st is upon us! :D

I don't know C/C++/Java (yet), so I don't make stuff on Unity3D, Unreal Engine, or Android Studio. (My old PC can't even run UE4, and Unity has weird glitches. :( )

I therefore make my apps/games in MIT App Inventor and its forks. Yeah, they are not game engines, so what I make is not a proper A grade game. But Ludum Dare is more a learning experience than a competition, so everyone, have fun!

P.S. Don't forget to try out whatever I end up with, if you have an Android device. ;)

11 hours through.

The start and the end are at 6:30 AM for me, and I'm not really a morning person XD. I have school-work and whatever, so there's very little time for LD41. I have a loose idea of something I'd like to try, though it isn't really sticking to the theme. It's a vague interpretation of text-based (and yes I'm bad at drawing) and shooter. Idk, have fun guys.

P.S. Given I had forgotten about LDJAM the last time until the second day was halfway, I'm well off with a vague idea. XD

MonoSpace is here!

Completely text-based shooter (literally). You shoot bullets instead of those metal thingies. Tilt your device to move, tap and hold to keep shooting.

Made fully on my android tablet, using AppyBuilder. I'll add sound effects when I can.

P.S. The game also fits LD40's theme... The more bullets and hashes you have, the worse the performance is :joy:

P.P.S. It's midnight, I better sleep now. More on my game later.

How old are you guys?

Just curious, how old are you guys? Let's see if we find a pattern. I'm guessing most are around 17 - 27.

Time to PLAY!

I don't really use my PC much (icymi: I made my LDJAM entry 100% on my tablet) so tell me in the comments if your game has an Android build! I'll play it (ofc not instantly) and rate it (maybe even leave some feedback). Don't forget to try out MonoSpace if you have an Android device! (I'll recommend playing on a newer device to get minimal stutters).

Got something going

So... Yeah. I had school, tuition, work and life in general. Somehow y'all just weave magic in these days while I never really jam anything. XD

This Ludum Dare, I learnt the basics of ClickTeam Fusion, and made my game using that engine. I'm happy to have learnt something new. :)

Here's a screenshot of the initial screen of my game:

You spend lives to upgrade your character (quite literally) and defend against the neverending waves of hashes and their bullets.

Controls: Arrow keys for movement Space Bar for shooting Shift pauses and unpauses the application Control moves back and forth between ther upgrades screen and the play area.

The game can be insane, or casual, depending on how hard you mash your keyboard. :)
