I'm in!
I think. Unless my mum phones. That woman can talk for days.
Good luck everyone!

Good luck everyone!
It's 11.30pm and I'm up at 6am, so that's enough tweaking for one GameJam. Hope it's not complete shit! Thanks to everyone who swung by on Twitch to say Hi!

I submitted my game in the Compo section, but a lot of people have been asking about a global leaderboard for each level; would it be against the rules to add this as an extra post-submission?
Even as I'm typing this I'm thinking yes; yes it would. Damn.

My first ever game jam so please forgive me if this is a total noob question; is there a way to see what your ratings are before the judging finishes?

I'm digging these word clouds so I thought I'd have to do one myself, sorry for shamelessly copying the ones below :P!

As an update on my game, I've been working on a mobile port for 'FUEL' which has been fun: adding in a virtual joystick for controls and I've already got it up and running on my iPhone to test functionality and working on an Android version too - since this is my first game jam (and first game!) it's so exciting to see my game actually playable on a phone! A whole bunch of new levels and a total re-skin is up next, but I'll be sure to post EVERYWHERE if I can get this to the App/Play Store someday!
As a sidenote, I've been loving everyone's games, this has been such an amazing experience for me to be a part of and to see what everyone else is doing, feel free to comment with your game below and I'll make sure and give it a play/comment/rating

Have a game-filled day everyone!
I won't get a chance to play any more games now before the competition ends, so I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU! to everyone who played 'Fuel' and gave me such invaluable feedback, and another thank you to everyone who participated; I have had an absolute blast playing so many fun, innovative and exciting games this LD.
Well done everyone!!
Last chance to rate if anyone wants to check out Fuel at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/fuel

Thanks again everyone!
I've spent this morning playing more games, and I've noticed a lot of the top 'Grade' games have little to no ratings given out themselves, how is this possible? How are games like that getting any kind of traction; one of the top games has literally rated < 5 games, 0 comment karma yet it has > 120 ratings? Am I missing something? Feel free to comment with your own game; I'd rather play games that have active users!
My first ever game jam of any kind and I finished 20th in fun and 68th overall, and I couldn't be prouder!!! Thanks everyone for your generous ratings, I've had an absolute blast doing this and will 100% be doing more in the future! Now, to turn this game into a mobile app and then take it from there, wish me luck!
Thanks again everyone, well done to all who entered!!

Last year I entered LD38 with 'Fuel' and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life - I learned a huge amount from all the feedback given and I had a great time doing it too. Almost exactly one year on and 'Fuel' has become 'oOo: Ascension' and has just today had it's final submission accepted for release on Xbox One, with a release date of late May.
I count myself incredibly lucky to have been able to create something tangible from my entry, but I wanted to come here before this weekend to show just how life-changing competing in something like this is. Whether this is your first time competing or if you're an old hand at things like this, nothing but good can come of giving it your all.
Best of luck to you all, I can't wait to see what you can do
